No you did not and whatever verses you posted do not change the meaning of a direct quote whatsoever.
"I ask again (since you did not answer the question): your criteria for determinimg what is and is not God's word is....?"
You rearranged the words of a prior post to someone else. That is how you posed this question. I take the word's of God directly, then do I attempt to understand other scipture. God came here to teach. In order to know what He taught, who He is and what He is about, I'll go to the source. Whatever anyone else has to say, I'll reference back to the source. If you learn from God, then you can understand the word of God. There is no other way.
Matthew 13:34
Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.
Matt 13:10-17
The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'[Isaiah 6:9,10]
But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
Perhaps you think only God speaks in parables and that Moses and Paul spoke differently. They did not. Matt 19:7-9
"Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
Had God not said this, adulters would be writing off their spouses according to the hardness in their hearts and justifying it by God and Moses. The same goes for the actions justified by what Paul, or some other prophet said. This is another passage that expands on the fundamental passage regarding damnation, which no one has posted.
The homosexual activists and their assistants have MADE it our business. If they kept their private sex lives to themselves, no one would know or care.
If you don't see this, you either just woke up from a 25 year coma or you don't mind the gay agenda.
I think that is called creating God in their own image(g). Some people really, really, really want God to be mean and punitive I think.
Ok, I'll give you that one. I guess I was referring to another post about judgement day, but did a poor job of telling you that. lol Ok, I forgot to say it completely.
You're right - a person true to God must show that in thought and deed. That's why I have a hard time with people trashing other people because they don't think they are Christian enough. Although I can't 'see' their thoughts, I think acting that way is a bad deed.
In theory you are correct. Except I have a feeling that you --yes even you -- are incorrigible in sin. I bet there are times at work or at home when you put the idol of money before God, and then try to justify it to yourself. I bet there are times when you put love of country before God's commandments, and then try to justify it. The worst thing is, I bet you still justify it to yourself.
We all do.
" One doesn't come to Jesus by quitting sin. One quits sin by coming to Jesus."
I'm standing. I'm applauding.
That's it exactly. 2 Cor. 5:17!
(That's why 1 Cor. 6:11 is there - although most stop reading with verse 9 and 10!)
Oh man, when I saw this picture, I wondered for a moment who the handsome guy was! This story is great however, as long as you ignore the reporter!
Read that sentence again, won't you?
There are many fine organizations who help people leave the "gay" life. With compassion, understanding and professionalism. Do they get a platform from which to speak? Does the MSM do stories on them (other than hit pieces?) Does the homosexual rights movement allow them to have a place in the public eye? No. The homosexual activists protest when they hold meetings, up to and including violence.
There are plenty of individuals and people who want to and do help homosexuals but the homosexual activists don't want the truth to be told - that homosexuals can change.
I can't imagine there'd be a big enough gay population in most second tier cities to form a parade much less spectators to line up and watch it.
The school thing is local and up to the community or majority of the community.
Sink I can't. My ONLY authority is Scripture. I have none by myself.
Because too many throw out Scripture quotes as if to say "See? What do you think of my knowledge of Scripture?" They use it as a substitute for rational thought.
(That IS the logical conclusion to be drawn from your post...)
You must have the ability to understand that homosexuality is no more or less than a sin than greed, etc. Yet, it seems to get alot more attention. Why?
If Cheney's daughter were an ambitious and greedy businesswoman, would we even be having this conversation? If not, why not?
Her partner was also on stage at the Victory Rally at the Ronald Reagan Building, she has also attended official dinners at the White House with Mary Cheney.
They use it as a substitute for rational thought.
Uh, it's based on belief. It isn't supposed to be rational.
