Levin beats Savage again in New York - 4.2 to 3.7
What??????????????????????????????????????????????
I'm subscribed to him. What did I miss?
John Gibson already has a show on Fox Radio. Then we would have to replace him as well. With Gibson, I'm honestly surprised at how conservative he is. When he was with MSNBC I really didn't like him. Funny how the newsroom brass influence the on-air talents opinions.
He is retiring in June.
Wants to focus on TV.

"Savage sounds like a candidate for suicide.
I've heard he's gay too, how could any real conservative listen to him."
WOW...I can understand when you don't like a talk show host expressing opinions different than your own, but you just get plain nasty. What a price to pay because he has the audacity to to speak out what he believes. I always thought you would just change the station...silly me....
Gibson is excellent.
2. Savage is GREAT on immigration, but PATHETIC on economics, especially on the oil issue.
3. Levin is simply a superior (and SANE) host.

One of his books was a work of fiction called Vital Signs, in which the protagonist wrestles with his attraction to masculine beauty. "I choose to override my desires for men when they swell in me", Weiner-cum-Savage wrote, "waiting out the passions like a storm, below decks." At one time, Weiner self-published his own zines featuring inflammatory pieces about gay sex at San Francisco bathhouses. He was apparently opposed to such things. But he was a friend of beat poet Allen Ginsberg, the very, very out gay author of Howl and Other Poems. In a 1970 letter to Ginsberg, someone signed Michael Weiner described a semi-erotic encounter he had had with another man in Fiji. Weiner says he did not write the letter, though the return address was in Honolulu, where Weiner resided at the time. Friends from the 1970s remember Weiner as "this hip guy who'd been traveling in the South Seas, finding ways to use tropical plants to help end diseases." But eventually Weiner un-mellowed. He started carrying a gun, and he would unexpectedly engage acquaintances in loud, rude arguments. In short, he was a natural to become a talk show host.
It's kind of flimsy--seems to be based on a fictional book he wrote plus a letter to his homo friend. Who knows. He may have had some kind of encounter when he was young and hopping around Islands. I don't care. I like both Levin and Savage.
Agreed
I've never really seen Levin's show, but he does have a voice that is like nails on a chalkboard. Couple that with Hannity-lite, and I see what you mean.
SAVAGE!!!
After Rush, who is on a different station, I tune the AM dial in the car to Hannity at 3PM. After I came out of the supermarket between 8 and 9 PM I turned the radio on and before I could change stations, heard the savage weiner telling his listeners that they needed to know some important information, ie: his time slot on WOR beat out WABC with a certain demographic.
Yes, friends, he said he attracts the "men" because "the one with the girl's voice" who is on between 6 and 8 and the one with the man's voice (Ingraham) who comes on after him - (he pronounced his name "Leven")-attracts a different demographic.)
Manic depressives are so cute at that age aren't they? LOL
MANIC is a perfect description of SAVAGE!
LOL. How funny. I have never once listened to the Savage person, and I never intend to.
Savage = Conservative Michael Moore.
Hate his guts. Lavin is much better.
You do remember correctly. It wasn't a 'negative response', he called him a 'pig' and told him he wished he would die. That's so far out of the bounds of anything resembling what any sane person should believe, or say, he should have lost his radio show, book deals, etc. as well.
I wouldn't be shocked if he were gay though. I knew a man once who you would think would fit in the typical 'Bubba' mold of conservativism that probably never even met a gay guy, let alone would be gay. While not as over the top as Savage, he had the same bomb throwing frame of mind.
Ends up, the guy, who's family thought he worked Friday nights, spent every friday at gay orgies. He was married and had 4 kids, and died of AIDS by 50. It's literally a miracle his wife didn't get AIDS. She had absolutey no clue till around a year and a half before he died. By the time she found out, he had full blown AIDS, not just HIV.
I don't say this to condemn him, or Savage. They are people with flaws just like anybody else, his just were more severe, but it's all the same in the eyes of God. All of our goodness filthy rags and all.
All I'm saying, is that sometimes, things like way over-the-top anti-_________ to the point of obvious hatefulness and absurdity is just an attempt to cover over something they are ashamed of.
