I've heard that comment from other pro-Harris drones on here.
I'll tell you the same thing I'll tell them.
I have worked on a great deal of races up here...state, federal and local. I'm not a cyber-activist. I get out and do the hard work tio win elections.
I do care about this race because it is winnable - but it's not winnable with Harris as the GOP candidate. I care because I want conservative judges and tort reform. But we won't get that because Harris isn't gonna win in November.
Lastly, I will hold you accountable for your remarks. Whenever a national political figure (Hugh Hewitt, Bill Kristol, etc) criticizes the train wreck that Harris' campaign has become, I expect YOU to criticize them too and tell them to stay out of your so-called "business".
I am free to comment on any race that I'm knowledgable about. I am knowledgable about this one and I will comment on it - regardless of what you or other fawning Harris lemmings will say.
Katherine Harris' problems arent because she isnt conservative enough
No, another idiot move of hers was to announce to the nation she would spend 10 million and now she's going back on the promise.
""That's all it would take""
If that is all that it would take the GOP would hve 90 Senate seats....you dont come back from being down 32 points by having the Gov or Prez make a single phone call...she is doing poorly because she is a poor candiate. Not because Bushes havent made a phone call.
I think she looks better with a horse than she does with a cow.
>>Well, I hope they get their act together, but quick. I emailed the campaign weeks ago to ask about Harris' position on illegal immigration because the issue is not addressed on her website. Have yet to hear back and the issue is still not addressed on her website.<<
REALLY !
I remember watching a video at her website where she gives a speech touching on this subject of verifying the greencards of foreign workers !
She did not give any in details . .
I'm an independent who will vote for her if she stays in the race.
"she just needs to ride around the state on that horse a little more"
Katherine Harris is becoming the One Horsewoman of Electoral Apocolypse.
This is a poll taken by a private organization, not a campaign brochure from a RINO organization. And recent polls by Rasmussen Reports and Quinnipiac University report essentially the same numbers.
Why he doesn't have any chance.
That applies to a lot of these so called experts.
Heheh.....cute.
Too bad, she has BALLS, whoops, sorry I forgot she's female. It would have been a good thing for at least one R senator to have some.
We can only hope, eh? Although Bense is continuing to play footsie with the U.S. Senate race, his probability of running against Harris in the primary went up today with the open endorsement and encouragement of Jeb Bush (who has also been openly critical of Harris' campaign).
Read about that here.
Thanks very much for the link! : )
There are people on this forum refuting your contention.
They are asserting the problem is she is not getting support from the State organization. She stepped aside to let Martinez run and now we have another character in the Senate pushing for rights for illegal invaders.
Knowing a little bit about how these things work from a personal perspective, their allegations are hardly suspicious.
Gratitude is a great virtue.
Bush should exercize it more often, both on Harris' behalf and on the behalf of the schlubs like me who form his conservative base and helped put him there - twice.
Agreed. Harris is a polarizing force. She was fighting an uphill battle before her personal and public behavior became so erratic. Now, she's actually losing ground.
She's in Congress because she only had to win in a Congressional District, but in a statewide race, no way will she get the Dem and Independent votes she needs in order to be elected.
Actually, she ran unopposed for her congressional seat in 2004. Unfortunately, her decision to run for the senate not only guarantees that Nelson will retain the seat, but it also places her congressional seat (she cannot run for both) in jeopardy. It could very well end up as a net minus 2.
I disagree that Jeb Bush (or ANYONE) is "obligated" to run for office--any office. If our bench strength is so limited that we cannot field a viable candidate against Nelson (and Katherine Harris is not, in my view, a viable candidate), then we are in far bigger trouble than in just this race. Nelson (in the race at the top of the November ballot) has the potential (in a backlash against Harris) to pull in votes not just for the U.S. Senate, but for democrats down the ballot (in the races for governor, state attorney general, state chief financial officer, and district U.S. Congress races). Yes, I have no doubt that we'd be in a far better position in November were Jeb Bush the republican challenger to Nelson (and not just in the senate race, but in the congressional and state races which would attach to Jeb Bush's coattails, as they will to Bill Nelson's if Harris remains the probable republican candidate), but I certainly can't agree that Jeb Bush has any "obligation" to run.
We will not forget this!
Jeb Bush has made it abundantly clear over the last 6 months that he will not run ("No. Hell no.") He has stated for the record that even if his brother asked if to run, and even if the Pope asked him to run, he would not do so. Were Jeb Bush to--after all that--now decide to get into the senate race, I agree that there are many people who would not "forget" his earlier statements that he would not do so. I don't much care for political waffles. YMMV.
