I wonder what the result would be without the illegal immigrant vote.

This is kind of an asinine comment: Harris is one of the MORE conservative candidates out there. She's not losing because of her positions---including the one on the horse---she's losing because she's had a terrible organization, really bad publicity implying she's corrupt, and little support from the state party. That's a prescription for disaster.

Too much baggage. Just like Hillary...a lightening rod for the other side, and you need both parties voting for you to be elected in Florida.

She's in Congress because she only had to win in a Congressional District, but in a statewide race, no way will she get the Dem and Independent votes she needs in order to be elected.

Jeb Bush has an obligation to run for the Senate. His refusal is killing us.

We will not forget this!

May 12 is the deadline for some other candidate to file and challenge Harris in the Republican Primary.

Alan Keyes in drag?

What? She's giving clear and powerful policy speeches that cast light on the extent that America has departed from its founding principles?

"..and little support from the state party."

"Hello, Florida State Republican Committee, this is the President. I understand your not helping Ms. Harris in her election bid. I know one of the reasons truth prevailed and I beat that mud-sucker Gore was becaue of Mrs. Harris heroic adherence to her duties as Secretary of State. I'd sincerely appreciate it partner, if your helped her. Thanks."

That's all it would take. Or a call from Jeb.

If Harris folded like a cheap deck of cards - you know, like a McCain, Hegel, Graham, Snowe or Chaffee, Algore would have won the first election, and we'd all be speaking Arabic and reading the Koran - unless our heads weer decorating some pikes.

She deserves better from people she served so loyally and well.

lol you are an optimist, my guess is that the Republicans will blame any losses they suffer in November on being to conservative and will veer even further left in an effort to attract more voters.

We're screwed.

Is there any other Republican talking about jumping in the race?

I hear that overtures have been made to Donald Duck.

Still waiting for that primary challenge...

All the RINOs can just shut up if they're not willing to field a candidate.

...my guess is that the Republicans will blame any losses they suffer in November on being to conservative and will veer even further left in an effort to attract more voters.

My prediction is that your guess will turn out to be accurate.

All they need to do now in order to alienate that ever-dwindling portion of the electorate that consider themselves Republicans is appoint Christie Todd Witless to the chairmanship of the RNC, and give Santiago Creel-or one of Vincente Fox's other currently unoccupied cronies-the job of selling President Bush's spectacular amnesty proposal.

Listening to the other out of staters is a waste of bandwidth.

Nobody in this state other than Harris will run, period.

As in NOBODY. Not even Jeb.

She has no opponent in the primaries at all, and for the good reason that 98.5% of all incumbents retain their respective seats.

If you like the idea of Nelson running unopposed, then by all means, listen to the self important twits who populate these threads.

Meanwhile, we here will continue the fight to oust the last democrat in Florida.

I don't have a dog in this fight because I don't live in Florida. As a conservative, however, I wish there was someone who would run that had a better shot at winning.
