"I can't fix anyone"
Exactly

"And a person can only fix himself if he is willing to take the time and effort to do so."

Many of us have many things to "fix" in our lives - why don't you let US figure out which ones get the priority - time and effort disappear quickly.

"I simply pointed out errors which caused more errors."

And quite frequently, folks like yourself, are unable to see the forest (big picture) because you can't look past each tree (punctuation)

You said -- "Wouldn't you agree that we Christians believe in a Culture of Life? Those following evil believe in a Culture of Death. Life brings hope. We are a people of hope."

Well, certainly, Jesus Christ offers real hope in Salvation. That's individual. As far as hope for the world, the book of Revelation tells the story to that. There is going to be disaster, famine, war, pestilence, earthquakes -- and all the judgments of God (which He has saved up from the beginning of Creation). This time (as the Bible says) is going to be more severe than at any other time in world history. So, take whatever you know of the worst that the world has brought about in the past -- and this coming time is going to be much worse.

There's not much hope for the world -- while there is much hope for the individual who places his faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross.

But then, Jesus Christ is coming back again -- to set up His Kingdom on earth. There's real hope in that for the world, but that is after the disasters of the Tribulation time, which are yet to come. It's coming soon, from what I can see, though.

Jesus Christ will set up His world-wide Kingdom on earth, ruling from Jerusalem and (as the Bible says) ruling with a rod of iron (upon all the nations of the world). That is hope for the world -- in addition to the hope that people have individually -- in the Salvation that is in Jesus Christ.

I would probably call for all other Islamic nations to be attacked in the middle east too.

And there is where we part ways.

If they were involved hammer them into dust. But I have never been part of the "Nuke 'em all" crowd. Why would I wish to bomb Jordan for something that Iran did?

The good people of Iran are not in power and have not been for a long time. Iran and Syria are hostile nations. But there are a number of others that are not hostile. So I see no justification in lumping them all together.

cool. I can handle that. I am politically uncorrect.

I think the great dirty diaphead flows better then the great used diaperhead does.

Pure evil is just for starters...
They are also determined, patient, shrewd, and, worst of all, well funded...

Why can't they be pure evil - but dumb, lazy, and poor - maybe just hate us when it's convenient?

I'm thinking with an enlisted mind-frame. The AAR will use that garbage talk after the real work, risks, envelope pushing, LUCK as your rightly stated, has been done.

There have been plenty of AAR written regarding 3/4 of the top al Qeade leadership taken out to date - And we've learn some from each -

As far as OBL, we didn't have a clue after Tora Bora where that knucklehead was. It wasn't until reliable Intel indicated otherwise. Agreed. Though even regarding Tora Bora it is very likely UBL left there a week (or more) prior to our actions which took place there (and have since gathered so many head lines). UBL was likely aided by members of the Pashtun Ghilzai tribe whom it has been suggested and accounted (to a degree) were paid very well. Which took UBL into Parachinar. From there he has eked out his survival to date.

But his days continued to be numbered and we'll get him along with Zawahiri, J. Haqqani & G. Hekmatyar and several other HVTs in the days to come.

Time was on their side in the short run. That is simply the frustrating reality.

So basically, it's another show of him goin "Submit to islamic demands, stop occupying israel and there will be no more terrorism, never mind the hundreds of millions of acts of terror that have absolutely nothing to do with ISrael of American foreign policies".

What a shame we can't just get rid fo him and be done with it, not that it will even make that much of a difference in the overall war on terror, (i.e. war on islamic jihad). ANd of course, our "allies" in europe, (save Britain and Australia), and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are of zero hope whatsoever. If bin laden is ever caught it will be us doing it oursevles while the world chastisizes us for not doing it fast enough.

You said -- "So just what reactions are you referring too, oh, thread-savant?"

Well, those things in the past were a different country than the one I see now.

Take for example, the Civil War. See what Lincoln said --

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln
William H. Seward, Secretary of State

When I see this kind of proclamation -- today -- then I'll know what you say about our nation will be true. Short of that -- we'll go down...

Star Traveler

You said -- "It was just an idea. I am trying to help. I have ideas. I am Republican."

Well, I was just pointing out that it's this sort of problem and quandary that Israel has that drives it "to the wall" -- in the end times that is described in the Bible. And God has a purpose in that -- to drive Israel to the wall, so that they finally look to *Him* for their salvation and not to other things. That's what God will accomplish by that.

There are not going to be answers to this problem until Jesus Christ comes again and until the nation of Israel (and other nations) look to God for their true salvation.

All this that is going on now (with Islam, bin Ladin, War on Terror, Iraq, Iran, etc, etc.) is all of what brings the world to the end times of the Bible. It's coming and so is Jesus.

We aren't going to solve it -- so I just say be ready for the 100-year war on terror -- because that's what it's going to be.

Star Traveler

Some say Jordan has entered the war by not securing their border. Some say Jordan is not innocent. Al Zarqari is Jordanian. If these country don't work with us, then they are against us? Do you think Syria is for us? Some say Syria has entered the war by sending people to Iraq. Some say Iran has entered the war by sending people to Iraq. I don't know what is true, but I know this: I don't trust a peaceful religion that is currently responsible for 100% of the wars being waged on this planet.

Hit them all? No...

Hit our enemies - even those that haven't quite reached the point that they can hit us first? Maybe...

If we get hit by nukes, are our known enemies at risk - even if we don't have direct evidence that ties them to a particular attack? Most likely...

Enemies typically become our enemies for a reason. State sponsorship of terrorism for one...

Everybody on earth is in the war just by being on earth. Active fighting will have to escalate about 1000x for everybody to finally realize they are in it.

"We don't have laws against nature in this country. We have laws against man (i.e., certain actions). You've listed events in nature. A nuclear device is an event of man. It produces a different reaction."

Well said...

As a side note, interesting how us, the Great Satan, tries to figure out how to help the people of Iran after their recent devasting earthquake...

Without trees, there is no forest.

I should probably stop here; but I feel it is incumbent upon me to try to help someone who obviously wants to communicate ideas he/she feels are important.

Written communication is worthless if not made up of standard spelling, grammar and punctuation. For many of us, writing is not just a spewing forth of thoughts regardless of the manner in which we state our ideas. Those, I believe, who take the time and make the effort to write intelligibly are those who succeed in getting across their message.

We have spent too much time dealing with this issue. If those to whom the original response was made had taken time and effort to write clearly, I would never have responded at all.

Yes, but the only war that belonged to Christians recently is the protestants and catholics in Ireland and GB. Muslims fight Christians in Sudan, Hindu in India, Christians in the Philippines. These people are on a war path.
