Forget about we people you can not fix and go back to school and do something about the ones you can fix.

I can't fix anyone. Each person has the responsibility to fix himself. And a person can only fix himself if he is willing to take the time and effort to do so. If he is not willing to do so, he will remain broken. That (remaining broken) is his choice.

I didn't ridicule anyone. I simply pointed out errors which caused more errors. One cannot fix oneself if one doesn't know what it is that needs to be fixed. With that information, then one can fix oneself if one has the will, the humility and the courage to do so.

I truly don't understand why some get defensive when it is obvious that advice and help are being offered.

Also, Star, in response to your post about God-given rights: I appreciate the reminder. I would offer that, as a Christian, I believe more in the God, Jesus Christ, who asks us to be children of love and forgiveness, to be responsible for our own decisions relying on God's love rather than His just anger. While we have much to learn from the Old Testament, I believe the New Covenant of Our Lord Jesus Christ fulfills tha promise of the Old. Wouldn't you agree that we Christians believe in a Culture of Life? Those following evil believe in a Culture of Death. Life brings hope. We are a people of hope.

The natural calamities that the USA has already experienced exceed any an enemy might be known to throw at us, short of a nuclear holocaust, and our response to those disasters has ever been one of lawfulness and order. Moreover we have had periods of insurrection and civil war -- the Revolution being one, Shay's rebellion, Pontiac's War, the Indian Wars, and the War between the States being of all civil wars in mankind's history, the greatest in any scale. And in all of those we proceeded and maintained at all times except the insigficant few days here and there -- lawful order.

So just what reactions are you referring too, oh, thread-savant?

You said -- "I thought God gave us the ingenuity to develope the resouces to protect ourselves. The wealth is only a by-product."

God judges nations when they look to other things as their security -- rather than Him. It says so plainly in the Bible.

Make whatever list of other things you want. It doesn't matter -- if it's "other than God".

Remember -- "In God We Trust"??

It doesn't say, "In Ingenuity We Trust" or "In Wall Street We Trust" or "In our GDP We Trust" or "In The Pentagon We Trust" or even "In Our Constitution We Trust" -- etc, and etc.

You are correct. I am sorry. I just don't want people to feel like they are not smart enough to post. I want people to feel free to say what they are thinking. I don't want them to be afraid because of ridicule about grammar. (ridicule on fact and the like is different to me).

My bad. I am glad you spook up.

You said -- " Israel would then have all rights to pound the little terrorist into the ground like slimy little rodents."

Israel doesn't want to be in control of that piece of land where all the Islamics are at. The certainly don't want to annex that land into their state -- because that would cause the government of Israel to be voted out of existence -- once all those Islamic votes were cast.

Israel is in a real tight spot here. They don't want to have anything to do with those people and certainly don't want them in their own country.

It's been 5 years and you're exactly right...the terrain alone with the dismal numbers attached to the effort (not the skill level), and engagement/intel confirmation restrictions (which are sometimes a good thing) lead me to believe it's very possible (reduces level of certainty) that OBL could reasonably have left the region by now.

Nope. He's in the region. And locating and capturing single individual is a very systematic process (of course one in which luck can and will always play a key role nonetheless). And what you call "political garbage talk" is actual process that has brought in a sizable number of the HVTs we've sought to date -

Running sustained Ops in this region of the world at times becomes close to impossible. The logistics alone are a complete nightmare.

My belief on inalienable rights goes like this:

Evil (or liberal demorats) are trying to remove God from public view (no manger scenes, no prayer in school, no God in the pledge of allegiance, no ten commandments in a Court House and the like). If evil can remove God from public view, evil will be able to remove inalienable rights one day. What are inalienable rights? They are God given rights. Not man given, not Government given, I said they are God given rights. When God has been removed from public view, how easy will it be to remove inalienable rights? Who will remember that these are God given rights and no man or Government has the authority to take them away?

That is the way I see it.

You said -- "The country that can travel to Mars and put a man on the moon can certainly recover from a 9/11 type attack fully and swiftly."

Well, God has ways of making it apparent to people that He is the only One to look to.

If our nation changes the motto from "In God We Trust" to "In Ourselves We Trust" -- the end will come quickly.

You said -- "He will go down in history as the great unknown. I believe he was captured. I believe he will never see the light of day again. And that is all we will be left to ponder :)"

It's a good thing he's dead then. I would hate to see what might happen if Osama bin Laden were alive...

You said -- "Well, we HAVE a thousand years of progress to lose, they have nothing already......"

That is so true. People here in this country would hate to be in the position of where those Islamics are "starting from". They can't go too much further backwards. We've got a long ways backwards.

Where is that faith?

Not in you that is for certain.

So if something bad happens it is all your fault.

Some say that Genghis Khan (pronounced Jangis, if you are Kohn Kerry and I am sure you are not) put the Muslims a thousand years behind times because they would not assimilate with Khan because of their religion. I hear tell that Khan killed anyone taller then a wagon wheel in some places because he knew that the older people could not be assimilated but maybe the yunguns could.
