This sounds like Catholic teaching on homosexuality, but of course it comes from the Liberal Icon Dalai Lama rather than that mean old Pope, so the Dalai will get a pass ...

His pal Richard Gere isn't going to be very happy to hear this.

I used to have a lot of respect for this guy, but, after seeing him on stage with Dennis Kucinich(spit, hack!), I'm starting to have some doubts. And:" Using the other two holes is wrong."?? That's none of his business. Dalai Lama Lama Ding Dong

Just looking at the headline, I was wondering how many posts before this came up.
Turns out, the answer is THREE!
Well met, Hoosier-Daddy, well met, indeed.

We have a totally selfish and shallow society (generalizing here of course) that is constantly shocked to learn that the leaders of the World's religions do not just come out and say "if it feels good, do it."
These are men of great spiritual learning and commitment, they are trying to attain a higher level for humanity than living like animals or worse. Let's face it, that higher standard isn't always convenient for most of us. But it ought to be obvious that acting out our basest fantasies is not a road to enlightenment.
I don't expect to find the Dalai Lhama at a go go bar, and I don't expect him to tell me it would be just peachy if I go there, either.

"So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."

I put credence in the theory that if you can preoccupy a civilization in sexual pursuits (beyond the norm, especially), it will be much easier to destroy.

It's not like he came to your house and told you what to do. He was asked and he gave his opinion, based on his religious beliefs. If you don't want to follow the Dhali Lhama, don't. I know I don't, but as a Catholic I get the same answer from my spiritual leader.
You know, perhaps it's not his business if I want to screw a goat. And maybe I like goats. But when he tells me its not the best thing, am I really going to argue with him? There was a time when people respected the views of religious leaders, even if we can't all live up to them.

The Dalai Lama has every right to express his religious and moral beliefs on homosexual activity, as does any traditional Christian believer.

"Gay couple" Now that's a propaganda meme if I ever saw one.
Just call them two homosexuals.

True, I also object to the use of the political term "gay" and prefer instead the more clinical and neutral term "homosexual". However, the thrust of the Dalai Lama's teaching about the reproductive purpose of sex and the wrongfulness of homosexual activity is not inconsistent with Catholic teaching.

Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. Thank you for that.
It's good to know that I wasn't the only person that was going to post it. LMAO!

The Dalai Lama gets it. Great. Now if only all the westernized faux Buddhists will listen.

Relgions create a super ego.So, in the golden time before anyone dreamed up a religion, the super-ego did not exist?
That religion must be pretty persuasive stuff. Is the super-ego inherently alien to human nature?
