He wants jerky? FREEpmail me an APO and I'll send him the best in the world. That would be a lb of Cattaneo Bros. out of San Luis Obispo, CA - There's is nothing better than peppered cowboy cut. Patriciaruth, at FR has set up a network of Care packages to the ME that is hard to believe - I'm sure she'll vouch for me. For all our guys and gals - inside and ouside the wire ... God Bless You!

God Bless Our Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and AirmenThank you, LSUfan, for this great post. It's so good to hear directly from our brave and honorable military whatever they can tell us about their daily life, successes, tribulations, etc. I really hope they know that the vast majority of us are behind them every step of the way, and pray for their safety and the success of their mission.

Pinging the Merry Band of Patriots for an interesting letter, especially the part midway in where the Marine talks about the items they can use there now.
LSUfan, if you have an APO address for this group and want a care package sent to them, just let us know.

I had the honor to meet a young Marine who served in Fallujah. He is back now for another tour. I told his mother I would pray for her son.
This piece is so moving I'm going to do more and ask others for same.
God Bless our fine armed forces around the world.

This is a great letter if you have a few minutes to read and pass on. But if nothing else I want you to see this incredibly powerful quote from someone truly on the front lines:
Its too bad many people dont realize that and the same Marines have to return time and again to the same places to kill these people instead of an entire generation standing up to fight evil. I cant complain though, because even if there arent lines at the recruiting stations, at least were getting all the stuff we need out here and we know we have the support of the majority of the population back home. That makes all the difference in the world!

Reading this letter makes me think about the future generations of Iraqi's, Americans, and heck, the whole world who will be reading of these soldiers brave stand against evil. I believe generations yet unborn will shout for joy because the coalition of fighters had the courage to take a stand and fight for freedom.
Don't lost heart, it is only the whiny know nothings who keep screaming about the need for the war to be over and the troops to come home. This fight is worth every drop of sweat, every drop of blood, and fulfills every hope and dream of humanity to live free.

Seems like a good time to suggest folks thank their local recruiters. We have stopped by for quick visits, dropping off baked goods, sodas, what have you. Just thanking them for their service and letting them know we appreciate their hard work (and for those not familiar with recruiting duty, the hours are lo-o-o-ong and the job can feel thankless at times.)
