MEXICO CITY — The Mexican government blasted Georgia's new illegal immigration law Tuesday, calling it a half-measure that discriminates against Mexicans.

Ruben Aguilar, spokesman for President Vicente Fox, told reporters Tuesday morning that implementing parts of the Georgia law could result in "acts of discrimination" against Mexicans living in Georgia. "It's the position of [Fox] that the half-measures in this law are insufficient to resolve ... the complex phenomenon of immigration between Mexico and the United States," Aguilar said.

The Georgia bill, signed into law Monday by Gov. Sonny Perdue, requires verification of the legal status of those seeking certain taxpayer-funded services. The law also prevents employers from claiming the wages of illegal workers as a state tax deduction.

Why doesn't the media EVER talk about Mexico's own immigration policies, ao that everyone can see the rank, evil hypocrisy of the Mexican government in demanding "rights" for illegal Mexicans in the US?

Nevermind. It's a rhetorical questions. I know the answer.

Of course, in Mexico illegal entry is a felony that can get a 2 year prison term, and they have had only 15,000 legal immigrations in the last 5 years. Hypocrites.

I, for one, am getting rather tired of these half-rate leaders of half-rate countries telling us how to run our business.

Hey, Jorge ... if the shoe fits, wear it! The law only "discriminates" against illegal aliens. If they happen to be Mexicans, so be it.

Glad to see the governor of Georgia is an AmeriCAN and not an AmeriCAN'T!

What acts of discrimination do Coca Cola Fox commit when they rob, deport and capture and beat Hondurans and Guatamalans and Panamanians coming across their borders?

Hey, Vincente, how about sharing some of your country's wealth with your poor so they don't have to break into our house and break our budget?

The Mexican government has it all wrong. This law does not discriminate, it highlights the word ILLEGAL

Unless it provides differential treatment for various nationalities of illegal aliens, there's no discrimination.

Even then, the discrimination wouldn't be illegal.

I'm betting that the people of Georgia really don't give a rip what Vincente Fox and his ilk "feel".

I know that I sure as hell don't.

Fox should just shut his yap.

The level of brutality Central American migrants face in Mexico was apparent Monday, when police conducting a raid for undocumented migrants near a rail yard outside Mexico City shot to death a local man, apparently because his dark skin and work clothes made officers think he was a migrant.

Virginia Sanchez, who lives near the railroad tracks that carry Central Americans north to the U.S. border, said such shootings in Tultitlan are common.

"At night, you hear the gunshots, and it's the judiciales (state police) chasing the migrants," she said. "It's not fair to kill these people. It's not fair in the United States and it's not fair here."

This story continues to be under-reported.

Let's keep putting it out there.

Hmmmmm................That is exactly what Mexican law mandates.
