Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy says the conventional wisdom that America has turned conservative in recent years is just plain wrong - so much so that the country may finally be ready to make Sen. John Kerry president.
Kennedy tells the Boston Globe that he detects no rightward drift despite a string of national Republican victories. "People haven't lost their sense of compassion, they haven't lost their sense of decency, they haven't lost their sense of fairness," he argues.
And he offers President Bush as the best example that conservatives aren't really in control.
"Anybody that would say that this is a conservative administration, when it has handled the finances of this nation the way it has, it would be mischaracterizing what the current situation is," he insists.
Does this mean fellow Bay Stater John Kerry will have better luck the second time around if he decides to make another run at the White House? "I think John's learned a lot," Kennedy tells the Globe. "I think he'd be a better candidate now than he was last time."
"The American people, they want authenticity and leadership and strength," the senior Democrat says. "You have to gain the confidence of the American people about . . . the challenges we are facing here."
"mad orca" alert?
Well, I really needed a good laugh, so thanks.
Yup. What has that got to do with it? Those things are VERY conservative values. Liberals and conservatives merely apply them differently.
This is show prep for the Republican political losses this fall. Republican turnout will be low and FARTBOY will try to spin it as a big democraptic revolution.
After democraps make gains this fall, they'll lose it soon enough. This America is drifting away from the liberal republican party and NOT drifting toward the democraptic party.
Liberals will read the whole thing completely wrong, as always.
Damn!
I must agree with The Swimmer!?
Just Damn!
Is Kennedy nuts? Even MA has a Conservative Mormon as a governor.
Damn!
I must agree with The Swimmer!?
Just Damn!
You realize that The Swimmer is referring to lower taxes, not to higher spending?
He actually said something truthful. Granted you have to take the comment completely out of context to make it true, but even a blind pig (or in this case a drunk whale) finds truffles occasionally.
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile.
Ted Kennedy is, I hate to admit, entirely correct. The country hasn't move to the right, but the Democrats have moved to the left of Karl Marx!
LOL
I was typing as you posted............GMTA.
Regarding the statement you qouted. The swimmer is so dumb that he is actually admitting that conservatives are better at financial issues than the liberals. He doesn't even know what he just said.
the country hasn't moved right... i've just moved more to the left!!! said the fat bloated sack of guts as if that was possible.
Why do Leftists seem to think compassion has something to do with have your wallet raped and embracing (not just tolerating) weird lifestyles?
Wow, I actually agree with him.
Gotcha.
How about that spending?

Bring on the great pumpkin 2!
Couldn't have said it better myself. Besides, Ted the Swimmer is a drunken, fat, drunken, murdering, drunken, lying, drunken, philandering POS.....(did I miss anything?).
