Sorry, lead article should read:
Why Iran wants the bomb.
There's at least one very powerful country that keeps threatening Iran.
On the other hand, the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive strikes against a threat may make Iran think that they have the right to take action against those that threaten Iran.
Thanks for the ping.
To blow the infidels to Shiite?
They don't need the existence of the Bush doctrine to help them "think" they have the right to take action against those that they perceive threaten Iran. They've thought this since well before Bush doctrine existed, or Bush was even President. Flip it around: are you saying that absent the Bush doctrine, Iran "wouldn't think they have the right" to take action against those that they perceive threatening?
p.s. Also, your explanation doesn't explain Iran's funding of terror, bombings, etc in countries near and far which do not threaten "Iran" at all let alone adhere to Bush doctrine. So, a much better explanation of Iran's behavior would seem to be simple imperialism: that Iran seeks to be the imperialist center of Islam, expanding by violence or any other means at its disposal. But oops, that wouldn't allow us to blame it all on Bush Doctrine...
Why do these throwbacks to Adolf Hitler and Josef Goebbels want the bomb?
To "erase Israel" and to kill great numbers of "American crusaders and infidels" and to hasten the return of the twelve imam that special friend in the closet whispering to the bearded little weasel with the halo overhead.
This is not a clash of civilizations--it is a pack of genocidal psychopaths warring on civilization.
In my view we may be magnanimous and make Mr. Weasel a grand bargain--note, this has not been cleared with the New-Tonians, so don't blame Bush--
Anyone who thinks Iran doesn't already have "the bomb" raise your hand.
How long will these terrorists be laughing at US? Rafsanjani again shrugs off threat of US military action warning the US against "aggression", while reaffirming Tehran's determination to continue enriching uranium.
I've been hearing for years that the younger people of Iran like us. That's another nice graphic.
Looks like it's your head that's getting cracked! I told you those smilies were dangerous.
I saved that the other night, it's cute.
Sunna or later, Shi'ite happens..
The article mentioned that Ahmadinejad has tete-a-tete's with the hidden 12th Imam? Whoa! I thought the 12th Imam has supposedly been in seclusion since the 900's and has not yet revealed himself. And now Ahmadinejad says that he is meeting with him?
Man! This cat Ahmadinejad is getting more apocalyptically crazy every day. Now I know what it must have been like in the 30's watching Hitler come into power and solidify his grip on the people in his country and region. If crazy Ahmad is not taken care of soon, he's going to have so many whipped into an apocalyptical suicidal fervor that's gonna make WWII look like a tupperware party. - OB1
