Did anyone just watch Cavuto clean Oreilly's clock?
Fox News

Posted on 04/17/2006 5:53:30 PM PDT by Borges

Bill Oreilly was complaining about the outgoing CEO of Exxon Mobil making too much money and Cavuto pointed out that Oil Company CEOs provide a much bigger service to society then talk show hosts who also make millions...Bill was speechless.

Whoa! Unlike many here I do not dislike Bill although we disagree on things, but I would have paid to see that smack down.

Fox should hire Dobbs, and fire Cavuto.

Yes, very cool.

O'Reilly isn't worth the millions he's paid. Not even close.

Yep. One over paid tv head telling another how collusion isn't happening. :-)

Bill was speechless.

Bill O'Reilly speechless? The #1 bloviator in all of talk television ... highly unlikely.

Cavuto and O'Rielly appear to have a genuine dislike for each other. If they came to blows, I'll place my money on Bill. He has a good four inches in height and 40 pounds on Cavuto.

Fox should hire Dobbs for the 4 PM (ET) slot of Cavuto, fire O'Reilly and put Cavuto in that slot, or trade him to CNN for a player to be named later.

Of the three, Cavuto is the class act. Dobbs and O'Reilly are wrestling in the jello pit to see who is above snakehead and Matthews.

On principle I had more sympathy with O'rielly's position, but I must say that Cavuto just murdered him lol.

Why? I rarely watch O'Reilly but this was worth it. O'Reilly's populist rant unfortunately sounds too much like many Republicans. If Exxon wants to pay this guy $400 mil, good for them. They recognize what the CEO did for the past 40 years. Not going to change where I get my gas from, the local Citgo has the lowest prices for me currently

O'Reilly isn't worth the millions he's paid. Not even close.

Pay is based on ratings and O'Reily has the ratings.

RAdio and TV are all the same. The advertising is sold at x dollars per 1,000 viewers or listeners.. The value of x is based on the age and income of the audience.

If you don't hold the audience you are fired. O'Reilly has the largest audience on FOX. He will be paid millions as long as his audience stays large. If it falls he will be fired.

That is the name of the game. And the way it works.
