Yes, and you are only paying this much as opposed to the $5/gallon in Europe because oil execs like this are working to continue to make sure oil companies can compete despite onerous regulation.
The shareholders voted this guy his package. Anyone who wants to interfere in the free choice shareholders make has a socialist bent. This man will most likely use a lot of his money to further business enterprises or fund effective charity work. Or any real estate purchase he makes will increase wealth for others also in the area he buys into. These guys don't just sit by the pool all day. They create wealth for themselves and, in so doing, create wealth for others.
The oil companies, far from the prevailing socialist myth, have created incredible wealth for the USA in general.
Thanks for trying to straighten me out. Some people just can't learn though. I just can't figure out where the oil companies get their money if its not from people who buy their gas at the pump. If that's "socialist myth" there you have it.
I know exactly who owns it. And I could care less. Gas is the cheapest at Citgo, by about 10 cents a gallon. Until another gas station offers gas in a more convenient location at a lower price, I will continue to purchase gas at my current provider. And considering my state has just raised the gas tax by another 3 or 4 cents a gallon just in the past year, 10 cents amounts to a big difference.
You may well be correct, but then you may watch his show every day. Do you? I don't have the luxury to do so. As I said before, I've rarely heard him mention it. I do know that critics of his show take pot shots at him because of the way he sits or looks or acts. Most of these folks haven't a clue of his illness. He reads their asinine e-mails along with all the rest.
Fox can pay them whatever they decide they are worth. They can charge the advertisers accordingly to pay their salaries. My point was there was two bloviatiors dictating how oil prices are going up. One sees it as no problem and the other one sees reality.
I could give a s#it if you make $400 a million a year but when the economy crashes don't come crying to the government(I.e. taxpayers)!
Of course they do. And clothing companies get their money from those who buy clothes, car companies get their money from those who buy cars, real estate companies get their money from those who buy houses.
That's something we learn by first grade. But I'm not sure of your point.
The "socialist myth" is that perpetrated by those who think the rich are evil and prey upon the poor. Really, anyone can get in the game because there's consumers out there who want to spend money, and rightly so. Many at the top are those who have provided what America has needed to get ahead and have fought the good fight against socialist philosophy. I hope they can keep pulling our country ahead by making and investing their money in business enterprises which also provide quality of life and jobs.
anytime.
anytime.
I am sorry that you are not able to watch him everyday. Hopefully someday the network will show it at a more convenient time for you or that your situation will change. He does a pretty good show and does mention it pretty often, but not in a self pity outlook. Your right that some people are rude about it when he reads some e-mail. Have a good one.
Surely your joking.
Also realize that this retirement package covers over 40 years of service. Factor in his performance in growing the business (ROCE and stock progression price) , and $8M per year is not that outrageous.
