LOL...CNN with Wolfie just showed clips of the other Sunday shows...and all were negative about Bush except Gen. Myers, trying to explain the chain of command re: Rumsfeld.

Nelson is the dumbest Senator in the history of the Senate.
What's worse is that on both sides of Fla. we have currents that will carry any potential oil spill up to Nova Scotia, dissolving it along the way. But let's don't let those little details get in the way of a good sound demagoguery by the dumbest man in congress.

He pointed out (accurately) that the generals served at the pleasure of the President and should not be grading their superiors

Yesterday .. my local radio guy was talking with Lieutenant Colonel Scott Rutter about the generals and their comments

He was not at all happy with what they said .. especially since we are at war .. he listed a whole slew of reasons .... he said respected their service to our country ... but said they were wrong to speak against the CIC like they did because they are retired generals who could be called back into service at any time if they were needed

He also made a comment about one of the generals that caught my attention .. I can't remember the generals name ... but he was was in Iraq the same time he (Rutter) was

Anyhow .. Rutter said that when he first heard about these comments it surprised him ... he said it was completely different from what the general said and acted like when they were in Iraq

Rutter said .. if this general had such a problem .. why didn't he say something then

Round about that, England has:-

New years Day
Good Friday
Easter Monday
May Day (First Monday in May)
Spring Bank Holiday Monday (last Monday in May)
Summer Bank Holiday Monday (last Monday in August)
Christmas Day
Boxing Day

If any of those days fall on a Saturday or Sunday we get the next working day off.

By law employers have to give 3 weeks holiday in addition to all permanent workers most give 5 weeks (25 days).

In some industries such as call centres we have seen a trend over the last few years to employ people on rolling 6 month contracts where they do not have to grant holiday and do not give any sick pay. There is a believe a maximum amount of times that an employer can do and then they have to either let the person go or taken them on permanent.

Sick pay is now in some cases being phased out in exchange for a slightly higher wage. Some companies do not offer it at all and certainly do not pay higher either. The 5 week holiday became the norm at the height of the unions but new companies who have never had unions normally only grant 4 or 3 weeks. On the other hand city workers and some government workers get 6 weeks plus.

If Nelson is so dumb (and I agree that he is)...then why can't Florida find a SMART Republican that can beat him this year???

Poor Katherine Harris is getting some BAD advice to run, from what I can see. Is she jeopardizing her seat in the House to a possible DEM, by trying to run for the Senate?

If so...I am going to be ANGRY if she helps make it possible of the dems to get a majority in the House.

That guy who may have been a Hero before sounds like he spent a little too much time listening to the naysayers and he should not have gone back because, he did it for the wrong reasons and looks at everything in a negative way now. His words sound like talking points for the DNC. He is unrealistic about what could have been accomplished in a certain time frame because he did not anticipate the help that the enemy would receive from The Anti American Military Media in America and all the Al Jazeera copycat affiliates around the world. He needs to step back away from all of this and when he is ready he can re- evalutate his position. He seems to think that this war could have been won like in a Night time Drama series within 60 minutes. If he was not in such a sorry mental state right now he would realize he is hurting those soldiers who fought the good fight and are home and the Soldiers still at war and he is being used by the Anti American media/DNC to do it. He denigrates all that have given their lives in this cause.

Maybe you know .... this is a set from the American TV "All in the Family." That's Archie Bunker's phone, as well as his table and his stairs.

So Nov 11th is not a holiday?

Interesting that most permanent workers get 5 weeks off. Now I know why I'm always bumping into British Tourists on Holiday.

BTW, It took me 15 years employment to get up to 5 Weeks vacation. I started at 2 weeks.

I went to church every day this week.

In fact, when I get in the car now to go to the grocery store, it drives me to church.

I miss my sister. So much.

She used to call me every Easter morning, and say,

Hallelujah, Christ is risen.

And I would say, The Lord is risen indeed. Hallelujah.!

Nobody does that for me now.

I've shut up now.

Please don't. These matters can stand some open discussion. I'm hoping Mrs Don-o will chime in here. I am not Roman Catholic - but it clear that the enemy has its sights targeted on Rome.
