What a link/post, incredible!Here's a sample;

Newt Gingrich on Adam Smith:

What we are missing today is the ability to get people who are wiling to think broadly enough about basic issues and then draw conclusions from their thoughts, and then the willingness of politicians to take those idea and begin to apply them directly to the modern world.

Brilliance personified here. This is basically what we are crying out for on FR all the time! Where are the politicos who will use the best ideas of mankind instead of the politically expedient.

Kristol just agreed that Rumsfeld should resign "for the good of the country."

A significant amount of the time, if Kristol is for something that's a pretty good reason for me to be against it, or at least look REAL HARD. Somtimes Kristol is rational, but all too often he gets into a funk that I think stems from personal pique and not sound reasoning.

Now, since Pat Buchannan has also come out with this opinion, trumpeting the importance of the latest round up of MoveOn.ORG generals I KNOW I'm against it.  I don't think I've agreed with that man on 1% since 1968.

Arguing with you and Don about this is like arguing with a mother-in-law who thinks Clinton was a great president.

Do we want to discuss this on the thread? I seldom post and do not wish to hijack it. Don't know the customs. I could ping Mrs. Dono-o. She is much smarter and more articulate than I am.

I will say that you can have women priests. Join the Episcopalians. Or start your own denomination. You are free to do so. But, the Catholic and Orthodox churches can't ordain women. They would cease to be, at a very deep and mysterious level, what they have historically claimed to be.

Excellent suggestion... We need to be very persistent here in telling the truth, and the only drawback is Liberal papers may not publish your letter to the Editor opinion piece. We must make the effort, and it won't cost us anything because we can e-mail it.

I have no problem discussing this on the thread...

it is very political and educational.....it is the very essence of the entire war in politics that the Dems are awaging-- destroying the Christian religion...eater it down.. make it fit their platform- so they can not be called what they are....HETHANS!

not to mention it IS Easter Sunday....

debate away.. just remember- HE IS RISEN!!!!

JMHO

Did your Senators have any valid reasons for not drilling in the Gulf

Of course. They wanted to look good in upcoming elections, what else.

Most Fla. residents are so stupid all they remember is Exon Valdes and don't get it that today's oil well derricks are in actuality fish havens.

We had major storm after storm last summer and not a drop was spilled in the Gulf!! They capped them off! But don't try and talk logic to congresscritters, they already have their minds made up and stand firmly behind their polls.

Great post on Rumsfeld's experience and thank you for the link to his resume.

Rodguy, kabar's post number 162 is definitely pingworthy.

It looks as though Father Neuhaus is calling upon the Lord himself to stop himself from throwing a left jab at her head.

Fr lays out EXACTLY why Catholic politicians need to be admonished by their Bishops. Joan bloviates, equating abortion and capital punishment. Then, Father lands a stunning blow! Something like, "Haven't read your catechism lately? Point being that the Church discourages, but does not anathematize capital punishment. There are circumstances that allow for it.

Course, the fact is that she doesn't give a hoot for the catechism. But, Neuhaus won that round, big!

I just finished watching Stephy's show...and I will comment on it in a bit...but, at the end, he said his guests next week are:

For the Republicans (his words)--Arnold Schwarzenegger,
and for the Democrats, John F'n Kerry (my middle name for him inserted).

I have a question for you and everyone---Are there ANY Republicans left? or are they all scattering in order to distance themselves from President Bush?

In Miami all road signs and posted speed signs are merely suggested ideas of what to do that are seldom followed. Besides no one reads English there anyway.

Wanna wade in here, my dear? This is a traditional Sunday thread. Flame free. And smart folks post here.

Question is raised on the ordination of women to the priesthood. I took a couple of shots.

Those that do support the President are highly unlikely to be asked to appear on a Sunday talk show the MSM agenda will not allow it.

Thanks. Rumsfeld's resume speaks for itself. I can't recall a more qualified SecDef with the possible exception of George C. Marshall. Rumsfeld has done it all and very successfully I might add.
