Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.

It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.

We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.

And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

Big news flash, I have and continue to demonstrate when ever a call goes out, in Dallas, in Ft. Worth, and in front of Martin Frost's office. I have flooded switch boards will calls, sent fax's, emails, and beat the drum to get new voters to the polls. Five at my place of employment alone. BTW you know good and well that Bush kept Clinton's appointees rather than replace them with his own appointees. Too bad Freepers are so well informed, eh?

According to a full 59% of those polled on this forum in the latest poll, Republican is no longer synonymous with being conservative. We have two socialist/globalist parties, which had you rather be stabbed in the back by? That seems to be the choice left. As close as these elections have been there will be no Republican party anyway once those amnesty voters hit the box. The two party system seems to be an illusion that we actually have a voice. It's obvious that both parties strings are pulled in sync regarding globalism.

This immigration issue, isn't the issue, the sovereignty of our nation state is on the line, not tomorrow, not next week, but right now.

Illegal immigration is the ONLY issue that should concern Freepers.

First, I think your logic is faulty. Illegal immigration is the unlawful movement of a human from one nation to another. Abortion, on the other hand, is the willful killing of a living child. I think the latter is far more serious than the former.

Failure to address that problem realistically will lead to a permanent Democrat majority.

Secondly, many illegal immigration foes decry Reagan's amnesty program. However, about 10 years after Reagan granted amnesty, the GOP took over Congress for the first time in two generations. Twenty years after Reagan's amnesty, the GOP gained control of Congress and the Executive Branch.

I will give you this, though: continuing to harp on the illegal immigration question will lead to many Hispanics who may have voted for the GOP to vote for the Dems.

I have asked this question before & never gotten a satisfactory answer. If the GOP knows that they will get our votes every time regardless of the candidate, then what possible incentive would they have to nominate conservative candidates instead of RINOs that will attract more center/left votes?

Primaries. You vote for the most conservative in the primary, and against the anti-American democrats in the general. Look at our Supreme Court. What do you think it would look like today if "principled conservatives" had allowed Gore and/or Kerry to win the last couple of elections? It is flat out impossible for the kind of change many of us would like to see to happen instantaneously. What is within our reach is to make the large changes incrementally over a period of time. The left knows that all too well.

I thank Ross Perot and Bill Clinton for the "Republican Revolution" of '94. Perot forced Republicans to eat a defeat because someone who really cared about fiscal issues cost Bush 41 the election. And only 2 years of Clinton's liberal lunacy sent Americans over the edge. Americans will vote CONSERVATIVE if given a clear choice.
