No amnesty. Not now. Not ever. Seal the borders and then start deporting. Bring in legal migrants.

If the immigration debate - which is an open & shut case - is killing the GOP, then the GOP deserves to die.
And this is coming from someone who NEVER voted for any Dim in his life.

The House bill is killing Republicans in the Hispanic community. Really? It isn't killing the Hispanic vote in my home. My wife is for far more "draconian" actions against illegals than HR 4437 calls for.

If the GOP would stand on principle, that is the upholding of the rule of law, they will do fine. If they don't, they will get killed.

False crisis disinfo pretending to placate "conservatives" (really just about everyone), while pushing through amnesty. Who pays this guy?

Nice try.... but no-ones bitin'.
Hasn't it been proven time and time again here on FR that LEGAL hispanics WANT increased border security, immigration reform and are AGAINST "Amnesty"?

The right is going to cry amnesty at any process that puts illegals on a pathway to citizenship while still being able to live in the U.S. The left is going to balk at a real fence and shutting down the border. But liberals who say they are for enforcement and securing the border are going to have a hard time opposing the only real way to secure the border. And the only way conservatives will stomach what is effectively a 2nd amnesty is if they know a fence will go up and the illegal flow will grind to a halt. You don't split the difference with criminals.
Next?

The Hispanic community is focusing on the severely PR-challenged House bill which has sparked enormous public demonstrations -- political energy that will not be helpful for Republicans this fall If the GOP keeps to it's guns (maybe softening the House Bill somewhat) and not let a bill pass that does not contain some type of increased border enforcement and employer penalties then I think the GOP is OK. RATS could be shown to be soft on American sovereignty.

It doesn't matter that an overwhelmingly majority of House Republicans voted to take the felon language out of the Sensenbrenner bill but were defeated by Democrats who cynically (but shrewdly) voted to keep the language intact.Who was the brain surgeon who put the felony language in the bill in the first place?
Rep. Peter King (news, bio, voting record) tried to explain on FOX News Sunday that the House bill is being distorted and humanitarians aiding illegals wouldn't be prosecuted, but it is too late. The House bill is killing Republicans in the Hispanic community.
King looked positively dopey trying to undo the damage that three months of allowing the false impression (if it is a false impression) to take a firm hold.
