Your right 100,000 a month. 10 years.

And that's assuming nobody leaves under their own power once their welfare and subsidized housing gets cut off.

"I have a question....I have intentionally kept away from watch the tube after I heard one of the FOX reporters over in DC fawn over the protest..now the question...it seem, to me, that only the folk here on FR are the one up in arms about this outrageous illegal protest ...WHERE are the rest of the American? Why aren't they also up in arms? Are they looking the other way NOT wanting to confront reality? This is scary and if we don't take action NOW, consider those law breaking illegals with MORE rights than you or me!! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE BY THE AMERICAN FOLK?? WHERE? "

You know why...

We'd be called "Racists" if we stood up to this HIJACKING !!

I am not and never will be a Racist, but I sure the heck against this !!!

They will do a vague "me-too" campaign and claim the main differnce they have with Republicans is they won't make felons out of 11 million people.

I agree with you there. Technically the people who have already crossed would not be felons from my understanding, unless they cross the border after the law is enacted. So it wouldn't make the millions already here felons (that would be an ex post facto law which are unconstitutional). However, even if the provision in the bill did allow for the millions of illegal aliens already to here to become felons, the Republican could counter the Democrat by pointing out that it was the DEMOCRATS who added the amendment which would make the illegals felons in the first place. It would be the Democrats who wanted to make the illegals felons and not the other way around.

By the way, the 11 million figure is an very conservative estimate, which the MSM keeps passing along which alone should make one suspicious of the figure's credibility. I myself have seen wildly fluctuating numbers on the number of illegals actually in the country.

IMHO, the President has had to swim upstream ever since his first term with all the Rhinos on the Hill. In fact, they probably agree with his amnesty and border policies more than they disagree with him, but also court the Mexican vote. Again, both parties woo the BIG MONEY supporters, to the despair of their grassroots voting constitiuency. Unless we can find a true Republican candidate for the Whitehouse for 2008 in time to finance his campaign adequately, I think we can kiss that address goodbye for a very long time. How I wish my hopes in GWB
became an actuality. But I am afraid that, like his father, GWB is an internationalist.

And opponents of illegal immigration can expect intimidation and harrassment.

Some supporters of California's Proposition 187 have endured harassment from the federal government. Three days before the measure was voted on by the California electorate, co-author Barbara Coe received a visit from the FBI. For six hours Coe was interrogated about accusations that she had "violated the civil rights" of voters. Her alleged offense had been to compose and distribute flyers expressing concerns about voting fraud by illegal aliens. Coe's case was not unique, as federal harassment of immigration reform activists in California continued after the election as well.

Shortly after the passage of Proposition 187 by a resounding majority, Federal Judge Mariana Pfaelzer issued a decree blocking the measure's implementation. This act of naked judicial arrogance was galling to millions of Californians, including Horacio Grana, an American of Argentine origin who legally immigrated to the United States more than a quarter of a century ago. "I have lived in this country legally for 26 years, and I am very proud to be an American citizen," Grana wrote in a letter to the judge. "How is it possible that judges like yourself even attempt to support those people who break our laws?"

Grana suggested that Judge Pfaelzer was unfit for office and should resign. Nothing in Grana's letter could be construed as threatening or even impolite. Nonetheless, in late January, Grana received a visit from two federal marshals who quizzed him at length about his letter.

"Once again the Know Nothings and clueless rise to endanger the Nation."

Nice try with the "Know Nothing" ploy. That one's been DOA for at least a week. I read up on them a bit. Has it ocurred to you that Rep Tom Tancredo is himself a Catholic?

If someone would run on that platform, they'd get elected and then you'd have the votes.

Well, if you're talking about the President, you can't get a new one of those until 2009. Only 1/3 of the Senators are up between now and then as well. You get complete House turnover, but then, the House isn't the problem.

But I suppose your theory will get tested to some extent this November. 33 or 34 Senators up for election, so lets see how many of them choose to run on your immigration platform. From what I've gathered in most of those races, I don't think there are many Dems with that platform. More Republicans, but I still don't think its a majority of them either.

I still don't see that viewpoint winning a majority of this fall's Senatorial elections, much less enough to swing the Senate as a whole.

You are 100% correct, but the only people who will get that "inside baseball" point are political junkies, the kind of people who watch Sunday news shows - and log onto FR.

QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT!

Who cares if the Republicans hold or increase their majority? If the result of their actions are detrimental to the country and its citizens then any moral claim to office is abandoned. If we want political leaders who have contempt for this country, its citizens, its laws and the Constitution and a compulsive need to degrade our culture and sell our sovereignty on the cheap we have Democrats for that. Better to be demeaned by actual foes that are easily definable and open about who they are. At least we know going in what to expect and prepare for.

Supposed allies that have led us to believe that their interests were our interests and lulled into a false sense of security we are ambushed and savaged by these "friends" is a vile betrayal and unforgivable. Quantity winning out by way of parades of parasites in the streets swaying fearful incompetent lawmakers allowing through gross negligence the quality of traditional American values to be sacrificed. Republicans took a once in a lifetime opportunity that was hard fought and well-earned and foolish beyond belief squandered it shamelessly. What could have been a stage to showcase true courage and acts of incredible heroics that would have reaped enormous returns and wisely leveraged to make the party invincible for generations while simultaneously eviscerating the Democrats.

This is the defining moment, the hill worth dying on. Republican leaders must now choose to either defend their country with everything they have to rid us of the scourge of illegal aliens thereby regaining the respect and confidence of the public they serve...Or, they can give in to their childish fears of being called racists (actually a badge of courage that confirms the effectiveness of your actions), sell out the country thus surrendering everything including their careers forever remembered as cowards, dwarfs stunted by lack of character and courage.

If the latter path is chosen may they rot in hell chained between Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid as they are forced to watch John McCain in the throes of a non-stop temper tantrum. A hissy fit for eternity.

This is seperating the wheat from the chaff. Either our party has enough good men left to get the job done, or our nation falls within my lifetime.

What till the sob stories start on the MSM. You'll find your majority rapidly disappearing.
