Mr. President, I thank Senator Leahy, ranking member on the Judiciary Committee. I have received just this afternoon in my office some disturbing news in the form of correspondence from the Congressional Budget Office. It suggests a number of areas where the amendment we are talking about here today, No. 3424, the immigration so-called compromise, violates our budget and the rules of the Senate. Let me read from the correspondence we have received. This is something, as you know, Mr. President, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, that we never discussed at all. It is not a matter we spent any time at all discussing as we moved forward with legislation which ultimately cleared that committee and came to the floor legislation which I thought was not good legislation and which I opposed, and so did the Senator from Texas, who just relinquished the Chair. We didn't discuss the financial impact of the legislation before us. Stand Up For America ! |
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

> DieHard, if you have some personal grievance you wish to air, in my opinion it would be better if you just start a vanity thread of your own. We would really like to keep this thread for the purpose intended.
No personal grievance, happy to stay off your thread. Hope that Xenophobia doesn't make you lot think poorly of Immigrants. Speaking generally, we are an asset to any Nation that takes us in.
That is all. Out.
Don't forget. Ted Kennedy is Public Enemy #1 on this issue.
He is trying for a repeat of the disastrous 1986 amnesty that opened the floodgates.
He hasn't stayed in office by being stupid. He knows they vote Dem.
The baiters somehow manage to find their way on every thread of every forum out there.
BTTT
To anyone new to the immigration issue, worth reading Phyllis Schafly's article about why there may be such lack of security on the border:
Doing the jobs that patriots won't do...?
Thank you for posting that, that is all anyone is saying! You stand in line, you don't jump in front of it and walk through without due process like you own the place. We have millions upon millions who are doing this and they're all from one country! You expect us not to be angry? There are people all over the world who want to come to America, legally. Christian Sudanese are being killed, I'm sure they'd love to come. You of all people who did the right thing and followed procedure should be on our side!
> You of all people who did the right thing and followed procedure should be on our side!
And I am.
They're just a noisy, tiny minority. Some them I even suspect are being paid for their efforts.
Oops, I didn't read your #196 before I posted my #207.
Alrighty then, moving forward....what can I do to help?
This thread was established as a gathering place for patriotic Americans who want to secure our southern border and reverse the invasion of unlawful aliens into our sovereign nation, the United States.
This is no "symbol of peace." Another LIE.
I love that picture!
Do you have any suggestions, ideas? Get two heads together you can come up with two great ideas, get a hundred together, well, you get the gist. So far we have complained, what can we do to make good things happen?
I'm not familiar with Lou Dobbs. Does he have a boycott list?
I don't know much about the secretary of agriculture, but if there is documentation that he aided and abetted illegals, then he should be a target as well.
Well, I think FR is doing a fantastic job just by participating and discusing the issue here in all its shades. I happen to believe that FR is read by some members of the media. After all, FR is big enough and mostly represent the points of view of regular Republicans in the nation a large. I am specially proud of the fact we seem to be able to speak without insulting one another for the most part, and even bother to keep profanity in check for the benefit of those who may not like it. All this speaks well for our side.
HOWEVER, when it comes to actually contacting our politicians, it would help if we had some sort of consistent message that sounds reasonable and logical, otherwise what are they to do? I like the article by Charles Krauthammer I already discussed because he manages to explain the point so clearly and yet it doesn't sound radical or hateful, but rather logical and practical. And that is key in convincing people to our side. I believe.
I for one will use it to make my points to our politicos next week.
If you consider yourself comparable to those who come here illegally, never apply for permits or citizenship and don't want to who are any of us to argue?
No, America's biggest weakness is bigotry. Go read the base of the Statue of Liberty. True or False?
It's a statement of sentiment not a law. Besides, didn't a Frenchman write that?
