Yes, A Really Lousy Week (for Creationism - Dr Dino Going Down)
Scientific American ^ | 8 April 2006

Posted on 04/08/2006 7:15:09 PM PDT by balrog666

Following up on my previous post about how creationists suffered a few setbacks, this news has also come to my attention: the creationist theme park Dinosaur Adventure Land, operated by the prominent evolution denier Dr. Dino (Kent Hovind) and the Creation Science Evangelism ministry, has just been shuttered by the authorities. All of this arises from the church's building without a permit back in 2002. (Here's the ministry's own account of the situation.)

"God says he doesn't lie. How can one that swears he never lies send strong delusions to another? Is that possible logically?"

How can you say the delusion is a lie, when he's told you clearly what he's going to do? It's up to you. You either believe him now, or you are going to fall into this delusion which will make the end result of your choices apparent to all.

Either Mr. Whitehead doesn't remember this passage of Scripture very well or doesn't understand the difference between "is" and "demands", the latter word not even to be found in what he was supposedly quoting. He'll have some of his own rendering to do, if he is deliberately mocking Jesus.

I was referring to the concept of religion itself, not any religious doctrine in particular.

Your saying the concept of religion itself is a lie?

And by concept of religion you mean accepting something someone tells you at face value without personally verifying it? This would certainly apply to more then just religious doctrines.

When you get right down to it, if you trust nothing then you know nothing. All knowledge is based on trusting something or someone. Religious and otherwise.

"Science is about telling people what makes them happy after all."

As opposed to theology, which tells you not to fear death because there is something better after it.

There is a group that is hell bent on proudly proclaiming that they originated from pond scum

Proudly? Please provide evidence of such pride.

and on eagarly achieving the goal of total annihilation after death

You are referring to Buddhism, however this is a discussion regarding Kent Hovind. The subject of Buddhism has no relevance here.

If I posted a graph of the high temperatures for Monday of every week starting in January and going thru June, the scientist would see a warming trend and would "assume" that those missing points would fall somewhere within a reasonable distance of the main graph.

The CRID'er says there's no warming trend because there are too many gaps in your temperature record. And, if there is a trend, it was put there by Satan to make you believe there is a warming trend.

Furthermore if you provide the high temperature data for Tuesday thru Saturday, the CRID'ers will STILL say - look, you are missing the temperature for Sunday, therefore everything else you have done is bogus, made-up junk.

NO AMOUNT OF EVIDENCE WILL SATISFY A CRID'ER

The vatican could produce a document showing that Jesus Christ himself wrote the original teastise on evolution....and they would still cling to their beliefs

It has been shown many times that many people would rather die than change their belief system.

IIThessalonians 2: is where your strong delusions comes from.

2:9 *Even him* whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and LYING wonders,

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie;

2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Not quite the picture you are accusing, the children already had the propensity for following lies prior to getting that strong delusion.

As they said on the Sopranos last week, "Dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden? No &$*&ing way, Adam and Eve would be running for their life!"

Its really hard for me to take the dino lovers seriously. Sorry!

PatrickHenry, I'm disappointed in you. You've informed others in the past that you only ping "scientific" threads. This list is described as a science list. You write on your profile "I usually don't ping for purely creationist threads -- those with no scientific or political (e.g. school board battles) significance." Yet you'll ping for a thread to discredit one "creationist"? How scientific is that? I take note that you do NOT ping for threads with scientific value simply because they come from a creationist perspective. So you show yourself not to be aloof from the petty politics at all, unlike I previously thought.

You are just noticing this now about him?

" It is apparent the "Dr Dino" words make you so unhappy that you are happy to see him humiliated."

Actually, "Dr." Dino (He's not a real PhD, don't ya know) has always made me laugh, his claims are so ludicrous. Even for a creationist. Almost as much fun as reading a Jack Chick comic.

" So if you are happy, and if its not about theology, what is it about?."

Justice. He's a fraud and a tax cheat and it's nice seeing him get a little of what he deserves, legally speaking.

He saw him just before he was commanded to raise some more money for his university I believe.

".... God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 1 Thess 2:11"

Is this from the same book that says bats are birds(Leviticus) and that the sun goes around the earth (Joshua)?

Just checking.

When you look what the elitists in politics have done to education through their scientific vehicle they have relegated anyone who believes in the Heavenly Creator to the bottom.

See man usurped this unnatural authority and removed the Heavenly Creator from their socialistic system of education modeled under that system of survival of the fittest. We are forced under their system to fund their ideology, it is taxation without representation, the liberal way and they call it science.

The dude discredited himself. He failed to even attempt to get a permit for his theme park in Escambia County, FL. He said, "I don't need a permit." There's no nitpicking going on by the County authorities, the man just brushed them off. He also brushed off the IRS in his business dealings. His legal mouthpeice hawks tax evasion schemes.

You ignored his point entirely - it wasn't about the "dude".

It's also interesting, however, that if this "dude" was a libertarian businessman who had the IRS after him, many of those on this tread would likely be defending him. (Kind of like how it's OK to support the ACLU looting taxpayers if they are going after "creationists").

Myself, I pay my taxes to avoid such jams.

The education system is not modeled under *survival of the fittest*. Schools do not turn the less intelligent out into the cold and only teach the smart. In fact, if you are exceptionally smart, you usually get shortchanged. Your claim, often stated, is without a shred of evidence.

Oh the public school has tax payer funded programs for alllll manner of fitness. The system decides what fitness is, see the 'gods' of education keep that never ending stream of humanity attached to the government nipple. Mother government becomes the revered one and it is done systematically.

Evidence you say, well take a look around you as to what has occurred since evolutionists took control of the public education system.

"Oh the public school has tax payer funded programs for alllll manner of fitness."

How do the *less fit* get shortchanged in education?

"The system decides what fitness is, see the 'gods' of education keep that never ending stream of humanity attached to the government nipple. Mother government becomes the revered one and it is done systematically."

The welfare state goes against the idea of natural selection and *survival of the fittest*. And you still have not provided any examples from education.

"Evidence you say, well take a look around you as to what has occurred since evolutionists took control of the public education system."

In other words, no evidence. Why make such fantastical claims when you can't back them up?

"How do the *less fit* get shortchanged in education?"

I guess you are not familiar with public education. "*less fit*" are treated as permanent stage of less fit, that class of people that will always be in need of a government program.

"The welfare state goes against the idea of natural selection and *survival of the fittest*. And you still have not provided any examples from education."

Some of the most supposed fittest are the main reapers of the welfare state. Look at how Congress earmarks dollars to donors that fund their elections. Education teaches the method of system think. Evolution does NOT teach a child their uniqueness their individuality much less a Heavenly given right to that individuality, evolution teaches the child they are members of animals at large.

"In other words, no evidence. Why make such fantastical claims when you can't back them up?"

System think response.
