"The nation which indulges towards another an habitual hatred, or an habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest." -- George Washington (letter to Alexander Hamilton, 8 May 1796)

We could STILL turn this around to our advantage if the President signs legislation providing for both a wall and "amnesty".

The US government hires every "guest worker" at $.50 an hour to build it. We make sure they work on only the south side of the wall, and when it's done, they are no longer our "guests".

Satire but I can tell you from experience that almost EVERY construction site I see (including one recently building a PUBLIC Library) had nothing but mexicans working it (illegal? Your guess is good as mine).

Whatever happened to good ole American construction workers?

Soprano justice needed fast for American, Legal, construction workers! :)

Senate should have at the very least passed legislation to secure our borders with armed guards along the southern border to STOP the illegals from INVADING our country until they decide the faith of the obnoxious, defiant disrespectful illegals already here who will be allowed to hold our streets HOSTAGE again this weekend, we are under seige folks and this HAS to stop and now !!

I say pay them a decent wages to build the wall so they can go home with some cash in their pockets. That's if there not all dead from the ensuing riots that would force us to take them out!

A real shame, isn't it?

The shame is that American students are losing their aptitude for science. Go to an engineering class at a typical American university and half of the students will be from India, Asia and the Middle East while American students are taking courses in "Transgender Literature" and "Whiteness Studies."

Of course, far too many American students couldn't pass an engineering class if their lives depended on it.

You win Spiro's "Genuis Pure Genius" award.

I still say that the minutemen could throw up that fence in a weekend. Screw waiting for Congress to deal with it. We just need an old fashioned American barn raising type event. Name the date and tell everyone to go to the home depot and load up their trucks with cinder blocks and mortar.

Showing my age here, but I've never heard of Spiro's "Genius pure genius" award. I'll look it up.

And if I stole this from Dennis Miller, it was inadvertent. This idea is too easy ... and I haven't watched cable TV or DM for that matter in years.

But it's still a good idea? Huh? Is it? Huh? Huh?

:-)

Anybody out there know under what visa a construction worker can travel (and work) in the U.S.? Certainly not a H1-B.

95-98% of those seeking re-election to their Congressional seats will win them back. That is the real shame.

Old adage: If you keep doing the same thing, you can't expect the different result.

Revised adage: If you keep voting for the same ones, you can't expect a different result.

Until massive districts vote out the incumbents, not much is going to change. And it is doubtful that that will ever happen. Most national politicians stay in until they, themselves, decide to retire. Only a few get 'de-voted' into retirement.

Tidbit for thought on that. I heard a story on the radio about university students not doing well in many classes because their instructors/professors were not fluent in English.

I wonder how widespread that problem is and if that has anything to do with a decline in students majoring in certain subjects.

Need to fix voter fraud before that will work.

AND the congress critters are the wolves guarding the hen house.
