Melanie Morgan (KSFO) has organized a rally outside of Lowell High School in San Francisco for tomorrow (4/7) at 9:45am. It's to protest Cindy Sheehan's appearance and school officials' refusal to provide an alternate point of view. A Gold Star father will be there and patriotic locals are needed to come show their support! Stay tuned to KSFO's morning show tomorrow for more details.
A friend's directions:
Lowell High School is at 1101 Eucalyptus in the Sunset District. It is very close to Stonestown and is located between 19th Ave and Lake Merced on Eucalyptus. If you drive, I suggest parking on Ocean (a block over) as the curb is pretty full beginning at 7:30 when school starts.
LOL!
True, but it was a (conservative) Lowell student who first brought this to local attention. And it's their education that's at risk of being subsumed by political indoctrination. So I would think that this is a pretty important issue for students.
Good point, it's definitely important to take a stand, and I'm sure that everyone else will pull it off in a much more thoughtful and dignified manner than is often displayed by Cindy Sheehan. So, in that sense, the rally will be more legitimately educational than the Cindy Sheehan event.
You'd think that someone as hysterical, reactionary, and unbalanced as Cindy Sheehan would obviously be a poor choice if the school were trying to instill a thoughtful and balanced interest in national and world events.
BTW, on the lighter side, I'm a graduate of Lowell, and when I was there, students used to use funnels and surgical tubing to fire fruit and other items from the middle courtyard, over the building, to the outer courtyard near Eucalyptus (and vice versa). So, everyone keep one eye on the sky and watch out ;-)
Feats of media-whorin' don't fails me now!
I would REALLY like to hear, read, or watch what Sheehan says.
I have a couple of her recent speeches on tape, but have not edited them yet for clips.
It will be interesting to find out what she says to kids; I imagine she will find a way to get their lunch money. Her main topic is usually begging for money.
This is the real Cindy-poo:
Absolutely no way should a one side view be presented!
Prayers this goes well for MM & Company!!
LOL!
Yep. That's him. Still has the beard, I see.
Melanie Morgan - Thanks for all that you do.
Ping! Can't wait to see the next email installment between MM and Dan the draft dodger!! ROFL
How did it go??

"Stop talking with your eyes closed! That's what smug people do!"
It went well! We had about 40 people and we did our bit by simply being there and demonstrating that not everyone in SF is pro-Sheehan and anti-American. We had plenty of American flags and patriotic placards and signs.
Halfway through, we were joined by 10-15 Lowell students who were not thrilled with the "anti-war" presentation on their campus. I spoke to one of the young men and he told me that his brother is enlisting in the military. Some Lowell graduates and SF State students (College Republicans) also joined in. They posted their after report with pics at the gatorgop website:

Melanie Morgan was inside during the Sheehan presentation and reportedly the school would not allow the GoldStar father she brought along to speak. She told us afterwards that Sheehan had been pushing the usual anti-American lies and propaganda and that sadly, she received a standing ovation from students.
In fact, a crowd of Lowell students had gathered across the street afterwards to check us out. Some looked confused, others amused and a few appeared hostile. A group of them came across the street and starting debating with some of us, but it didn't go far.
Our only "counter-protester" was a typical SF lefty Moonbat who stood across the street all day wearing an Uncle Sam mask and holding "Peace Now" type signs. He hollered unintelligible epithets at us throughout the day, but we just ignored him. Every now and then, he'd try and approach us and the cops (several of whom we chatted with later) would immediately stop him. At the very end, he'd managed to convince two young ladies to hold his signs (did he pay them?).
The best part of the whole day was when Sheehan made her exit, hopped into her brand new VW bug (or whatever they're called now), saw us and promptly did a U-Turn and went the other way!
So much for opposing viewpoints ;-)
Thanks for the after-action report.
Ping for the After-Action Report!
Nice job. The city of "tolerance" needs a civics lesson it seems.
