$50/hr. for picking lettuce? If it weren't for child labor laws, I even know children who would take that offer. Just because McCain is too much of a wimp to put in a hard day's work doesn't mean that others can't.

McCain insisted none of them would do such menial labor for a complete season. "You can't do it, my friends." Sure thing, John. When I was in college, I worked in a shop cutting plastic parts, I worked on a road construction crew on I-80 in Bridger Valley, Wyoming, and I worked in a cheese factory. Tell me more about jobs that Americans won't do, egghead.
Companies love Mexican labor not only because they'll work for pennies, but the company can also stiff them on their last paycheck and the illegals have no recourse. It's real easy to screw a guy over when he's afraid to go to the authorities because he's afraid of being deported.

McCain responded by saying immigrants were taking jobs nobody else wanted. He offered anybody in the crowd $50 an hour to pick lettuce in Arizona. He is really clueless.

For $50/hour, I could hire some Mexicans to help me. Some to fan me, water me & carry me about. He really is obnoxious. What is it with Senators? I wish they weren't elected (like the Constitution said originally).

the senator outlined his position on the Senate immigration debate, saying tougher border enforcement must be accompanied by guest-worker provisions that give illegal immigrants a legal path toward citizenship.
McCain is still pushing amnesty. Ironically, in the debates he keeps parroting the line that the people don't trust Washington. Wonder why, John?
Adding in his CFR assault on the First Amendment makes him one of the least desirable contenders.

How many lettuce pickers does McCain actually have on his payroll? If McCain doesn't own a lettuce farm, his statement could be considered fraud.

McCain is all for amnesty and open borders - to make it easy for the terrorist. He also pushed CFR. The Manchurian Candidate.

To be honest with ya, he has gone up in my estimation. He is not the first person I would vote for on the Republican ticket, but it ain’t the last either.
