Here in Oklahoma we now understand the difference between a homicide bomber and a suicide bomber. The young man who blew himself up outside the OU stadium was a suicide bomber and intended no harm to anyone (other than himself). We know this is true because the authorities tell us so. Now if he had meant to kill anyone he would have been a homicide bomber. Or so the authorities tell us. There is a possibility that he was a failed homicide bomber who was misidentified as a suicide bomber, but we're waiting for the authorities to tell us. Ya see how it works? Huh?

Well we don't either.

If a second bomb was found, you're quite right. So was this in fact directed against the Brits?

Yes, precisely my point, LOL, I don't' think it was played up much in history class! It is incomprehensible to imagine any sympathy in newspapers today.

Hopefully, the sorry state of victim-hood, and sympathetic press that has been given to the Islamic cults who have roamed the globe murdering innocents with impunity for the last 3 decades, will too someday bring shame. Will we have to wait another 90 years to see it?

The mob was always presented as "romantic", in movies and newspapers, forever it seems.

It's a hang over from the popular gangster films of the 30's and 40's. Which in themselves were a carry over from the romanticizing of the outlaws of the old west.

We just love our criminals. At least on film or paper.

No it was not.

Real life never seems to translate into movies, history, ect.

Maybe modern communication will never let history be written by the opinion makers in Hollywood and NY/MSM, again, we can only hope.

One killed in Canada coffee-shop explosion

Sun Apr 2, 2006 5:55 PM ET

TORONTO (Reuters) - One person was killed when a device exploded in a downtown Toronto coffee shop on Sunday, and police said they had no clues on who the victim was or what exactly caused the blast.

Staff Sergeant Don Cole said the blast took place just after 1 p.m. EDT in the washroom of a Tim Hortons shop, a coffee and doughnut chain that was recently spun off from parent company Wendy's International Inc.

One man was killed.

"It appears there was a device, but we don't know whether the person brought it in with him, or it he was an innocent party, or if he was a suicide, we just don't know," he said.

"It's not something that just blew up by itself, it was some device."

Cole said he had no information about the man who died. Fire department spokesman Daryl Fuglerud told media at the scene that the man who died had burns to his body, although the explosion had not caused much smoke.

"It doesn't appear that there was much of a fire at all," Fuglerud said.

Police closed off a busy block close to one of Toronto's main shopping districts as they investigated the cause of the explosion and used a remote controlled device to trigger a second device after finding a suspicious package.

"It was just garbage," Cole said.

Police also evacuated a second Tim Hortons further away from Toronto's downtown core after a suspicious package was reported, but Cole said the second evacuation seemed to be merely a precaution. "It will probably turn out to be nothing -- just garbage," he said.

"... we just don't know," he said.

We just don't want to say, I say.

"The police chief wants to emphasize
that this is only an isolated incident.
The people in the neighborhood don't have to worry.
At this point
it looks like it either was an accident
or the person wanted to injure himself."

"I am greatly reassured."

Yes, we can all rest now - it was an accident. I wonder how many of us have almost accidentally blown ourselves up. They must think we are brainless.

Gotta love Rooters. Tim Hortons "recently spun off" Wendy's.
Tim's has been around for many, many years in Canada and I've been avoiding eating there just as long.

Cheers
Jim

I wonder how many people
riding the subway tomorrow
will think it was an 'isolated incident'
just an accident?

I have to take the subway to the Bloor/Yonge area tomorrow.
It's going to be fun.

It may be as they say but..

"It was just garbage," Cole said.

That sounds about right.

If it is terrorism, that's the plan. They want you to worry.

I don't think insurgent is a euphemism. Neither does the dictionary. It is a word with a specific definition.
