Now now, lets be bigger than the dems.
I would be happy to see reports about her from rehab ;-P

You were thinking of Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), from Bezerkley, California. The whole town is nuts. The Ninth Congressional District also includes Oakland, which has about five times the population of Berkeley. If you want to blame a city for Barbara Lee, blame Oakland.

How about the whole San Francisco Bay area being wacky? I lived for almost ten years in the extended Bay Area. If you are looking for wacky, they've got it, but they've got a few other things too. Sunsets, for example:

The San Francisco Bay area is a very unique, and used to one of the nicest areas to visit in California. I used to make a yearly visit up the coast on Highway 1, stay in Carmel, then to San Francisco. I haven't been there in a number of years. LOL, the politics are what's dingy, not the area.

McKinney routinely doesn't wear her pin and is recognized by many officers, the police official said, adding that she wasn't wearing it when she entered a House office building early Wednesday.Don't you know who I am!?

You know what's amazing about this story is that I'm sure that Condoleeza Rice only acts with the utmost grace in her dealings with others while people like McKinney and Sheila Jackson Lee have no class.

McKinney spun around and struck the officer, though there are conflicting reports about whether she slapped him, punched him in the chest or hit him with a cellphone she had in her hand, they said.I'm having trouble deciding which would be more entertaining.
To: freedomlover
She did the same thing back in 1996 at the White House.

I think you meant
"Don't you know who I am!?"Geez, lady. You are NOT SPECIAL. Wear your damned pin. My husband can't get into work without his ID, and he's worked at the same place for seventeen years.

You misunderstand, my dear. The oligarchs
are special.
This is what happens when a gang of 535 (counting the Senate, as Jihad Cindy would say) rules 300 million serfs.

Just read in the AJC that McKinney will be one of the speakers at a big PEACE march here in Atlanta on Saturday. Doesn't she first need to make peace with the officer she hit and apologize?
To: freedomlover
another example of congress exempting themselves from the laws they write.
To: Velveeta
Members of Congress do not have to walk through metal detectors as they enter buildings on the Capitol complex. They wear lapel pins identifying them as members. Dumb policy. How easy it would be for someone to counterfeit a pin and use it to bypass the metal detectors. Everyone should have to go through a metal detector, no exceptions. Of course, a different set of rules apply to congresscritters than us common folk.

Is this really her district?
