There are hornets in the siding of my home. Every time I smoke them out, they set up shop elsewhere. But todays tale is about the ones inside. A few get in through the bathroom vent. They wear themselves out against the plate glass window, trying to escape. Eventually, they fall to the floor and die.
I realized this week that there is a lot in common between those dying hornets and civilization in the United States.
The dying hornets first lose their ability to fly, and then their ability to walk. But driven by ancient memories, they try to function until life fails. Isnt that the bottom line of the immigration demonstrations in Los Angeles and elsewhere around the nation in the last week?
The ancient mantra for US civilization is that we are a nation of immigrants. Thats true. However, never before have millions of immigrants flooded across our borders, violating the law. To pretend that today is no different from yesterday on immigration is a lie. It is a lie intended to keep the borders open until the destruction of American civilization is beyond repair.
If half a million murderers and their supporters had rallied in Los Angeles in favor of amnesty for murderers, would anyone have taken that seriously? What if the murderers redefined themselves as undocumented morticians?
What if it was a half million bank robbers, who called themselves undocumented depositors? What about half a million rapists, who called themselves undocumented suitors?
The whole movement to keep the borders open, and to provide amnesty for illegal aliens already in the US, is a direct and deliberate attack on American civilization. And, how have American leaders responded? More than a few have given in, and joined the opposition. Such leaders are either fools, or cowards, or both.
They are fools if they think that Hispanic-Americans think alike on this subject. Those who live in the US legally, and are on the path to citizenship, or have become citizens, do NOT generally approve of open borders and amnesty. Hispanic-Americans are not monolithic on this subject. And connected to that is political fear. These leaders are pandering to the growing Hispanic vote; they are afraid to tell the truth in public.
I dont believe the tide of illegal immigrants is the sole or even the principal cause of the decline and eventual fall of American civilization. A mass demonstration of just five Supreme Court Justices is capable of savaging the US Constitution. Theyve done it many times. The US will not fall until its Constitution is either overturned, or merely damaged beyond repair.
A mass demonstration of millions of union-allied teachers, who never even leave their classrooms, is capable of destroying the education of the next generation of Americans. They are in the process of doing it now. The messy way to destroy a nation is to attack and defeat it militarily. The slow but steady way is to destroy the education which should be passed down to the next generation, and the one after that. After all, education is the means of passing on a civilization. Break that link, and a civilization will die of starvation.
A mass demonstration of millions of youths who are glued to their TVs, or wired into their I-Pods anywhere in the known universe, are the crest of the tidal wave that is sweeping over America. Many, not all, of these youths have no real knowledge of where America came from, or where it is headed. Worst of all, these youths sabotage themselves with their belief that the world owes them a living.
Mind you, Im not looking down my nose at these youths. There was a time when my knowledge of this nation was a sparse as theirs. There was also a time I thought the world owed me a living. It didnt, and it promptly taught me that lesson.
The problem comes when millions of Americans, or would-be Americans, come to believe that because they are so many, they do not have to obey the laws. A jail break is still a jail break, even if the criminals are not trying to escape, but trying to keep from being jailed in the first place.
A nation which cannot control its borders, cannot control its future. Thats why the demonstrations in Los Angeles reminded me of that hornet, dying on my bathroom floor. American civilization is dying before our eyes. The question is whether enough people will care enough, to pull us back from the brink.

How does an employer tell if someone with documents is "legal"?
It may pain us to acknowledge that Carter managed to do the job without surrendering to the Charming and Handsome President of Mexico.
I was a part time student, and the wives of the professors did love to have domestic slaves that they kept in spare rooms in their largely Democrat neighborhoods. Only the slaves had to go home once in a while, so Missus would have to drive them to the bridge.
I knew of at least one Nice White Lady who got her car impounded and sold at auction because she was caught transporting an illegal alien. Dear me, how embarrassing. And the Hispanic professors (the word was Chicano back then) chuckled, because they resented the exploitative practice of black market labor.
Can we please bring that practice back, and start fining and punishing the employers?
a very brief primer, then: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1606057/posts?page=376#376
Thank you for another great article
I did. You know, a wise man once said to me over a few beers, "As went Rome, so go we. ".
I'd like to think that statement wasn't true, but I am beginning to have doubts.
Bump!
Excellent.
