Boehner hints a back down on 'amnesty'
The Washington Times ^ | March 29, 2006 | Charles hurt

Posted on 03/29/2006 7:15:28 AM PST by surely_you_jest

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

What is the point of erecting a fence if we invite 12 million illegal aliens-and every one of their relations, both immediate and distant-to become citizens?

This is the equivalent of trying to bail out New Orleans with slop-buckets after the levees broke.

Meaning that the mantra we've heard for all these years -- "A real conservative can win" isn't exactly a fact that can be etched in stone.

If this one makes it to conference, without fences and total security, I hope it dies there. There should be no pathways nor shamnesties allowed by RINO and Communist Democrats until we are secure, lest we lure another several million.

Anyone remember that smugglers brought Mohammedans in for cash, dressed and made up to look like all the other illegal invaders?

At some point, the buck stopped on Pennsylvania Ave.

I don't see how you see it as a LOSE/LOSE. Moderates are on our side on this issue?

I don't think he needs the invitation.

He's already performed that task quite well, from the looks of things.

But what makes me even more sick is the fifth column within the Republican Party-those faux conservatives-that have enabled this colossal betrayal to take place within our borders.

Oh, you mean the problem that's been brewing for over two decades, but only right now DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS WHEN YOU BUNKER BLOWHARDS HAVE COMMANDEERED SOME THREADS AND CAN BLAME BUSH! has become a campaign issue? Gosh, I haven't heard much about it. Please edjookate me.

Well said Wardaddy and I agree ......The Alambristas agenda is clear and sedition and anarchy was present in all the media coverage they garnered in their little parade of peons. And I also agree on the marches, protests doing more damage for them than they can know....keep waving that Mexican flag, keep discracing our American Flag, the flag of the nation they supposedly want to be a citizen of (BS !!).......keep pissing off America.

These Mohows & OTM's don't know what they are doing.......they are seeking something they will NOT like. Massive amounts of trouble for this criminal trash trying to play the race card for profit......

Doom on em all......

Huh, Phoenix is growing by leaps and bounds with tax refugess from New York and Boston.

I'm afraid of Phoenix becoming another northeastern liberal city.

Oh, there are plenty of illegals here. Just look at anywhere new houses are going up -- almost all of the framers are illegals. If we deport them, the housing biz (at least in Ohio) will stall.

Small price to pay to get rids of the anti-American "deport whitey to Europe" Atzlan scum et al., though.

PS Who are behind all the protest? Why, that bunch of socialist/marxist scumbags at International ANSWER, of course: http://answer.pephost.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ANS_homepage

PPS The one thing that makes me feel better about what GW is doing here is how the socialist/marxist crowd at ANSWER is seething, just SEETHING. Maybe I am missing something here...

PPS I am NOT anti-immigrant. LEGAL immigrants are one of our nation's greatest strenghts! I am ANTI-LAWBREAKER and anti-ANSWER.

My father grew up in North East Minneapolis in the "Russian Quarter". This was back post-WWII. There are still quite a few Russian Orthodox churches in the area, but other ethnic groups have pretty much changed the demographics of the area.

Every immigrant group goes through the same levels of hatred and bigotry until they get themselves established in a community. The problem with our current crop of ILLEGALS is that they are criminals. By definition. Those who come here legally don't remain as isolated. Rewarding the criminals with an amnesty only cheapens what it means to come to America and BECOME an American. There can be no trying to negotiate this issue from a position of weakness by giving in to their demands. As with every other issue like this, if you cave in on it once, you will continue to do so for every subsequent demand.

I've never hit the abuse button, not once. You can go right ahead and make an idiot of yourself, for all I care. You're actually being fairly effective in agitating anti-amnesty (or whatever euphemism is deemed less inflammatory) sentiment. In fact, I think that's actually your purpose and intent. So have at it, but you won't last much longer at this rate.

I dunno. I've been tormenting the bunker boys for a lotta years now, and I'm not showing any signs of fatigue.

Then again, it's not exactly an intellectually exhausting endeavor, now is it?

Republicans are going to lose this election, big time. They slapped their constitutients across the face on immigration, the budget, social security reform... all the issues on which they were elected.

ALLCAPS attempts to compensate for his limited rhetorical weaponry through the extravagant use of capitalized words - something netizens refer to as SHOUTING. Sure, a sprinkling of capitalized words can add some zip to a thrust, but they should be used sparingly. Even worse from a tactical point of view, too much shouting alerts other Warriors to the opponent's verbal WEAKNESS and emotional EXCITABILITY.

Look familiar?
