And you've surrendered to the idea that you can change their minds.

No, you've surrendered to the idea that human nature can be manipulated.

People are not infinitely malleable, some have just plain bad ideas.

Let's increase the odds of success by excluding them and not poisoning the well.

Yes. Americans are such nice, warm, people. I can see why mexican immigrants should want to be like us. [/sarc]

If the illegals thought Mexico and their fellow Mexicans were better, they would have never left Mexico in the first place, now would they?

And all your twisting and spinning is not going to change the facts.

'Facts' which you're yet to demonstrate.

And I don't recall any other immigrant group burning American flags or flying them upside down etc.

Then you need to pay more attention next time. The left can recruit rent-a-thugs and lunatics from any immigrant group as well as any home grown group. Saying it's only hipanics who are doing it is absurd.

they HATE us.. they HATE our history.. they HATE our traditions.. they HATE our culture.. they hate our heroes.. they HATE the Alamo....

Well HATE does seem to be an operative word for you. I'll stick to LOGIC and COMMON SENCE myself.

Now we're back to people looking for work are a threat to our sovereignty line. Like I said, that's utter noncense

Where's your house? I've decided that you no longer have control over your home. I can come and go as I please, and since it's just for economic reasons, I'm not infringing on any of your rights. I'll take your food, I'll use your beds, and you'll just smile, right?

The United States sets terms for people to enter this nation. Those terms aren't extremely complicated or burdensome. You fill out a form, asking permission to come here and work, and when that form is processed, you're either approved or disapproved. Someone who bypasses that system is violating the ability of a nation to set the terms of their borders. That's a violation of sovereignty, no matter if you consider it to be of sufficient level or not.

Just as you can control your own home, the nation can control it's borders.

The only nonsense being spouted here are from people who believe that they can singlehandedly hand over the rights of a nation.

The illegals want to use the race card in hopes of enlisting help from all "hispanics". They WANT to turn it into a race thing. It would be to their advantage.. or so they think.

Interestingly enough, Hispanics are caucasian. If we look technically at race here in this question... well.. we are all the same race, spotted dog mixtures and all.. No.. It is more an ethnic thing. And even there it is not monolithic.. as I pointed out in my other post.

Rather, the ethnic thing is one from a negative value. In other words, NOT white of "european" descent. Therefore, the unifying degree is one from a negative under the banner of a non-existant positive.

So it's under the guise of a non-existant monolithic Spanish ethnicity, but it is really one of "Spanish speaking but not lily-white". Heck, Cubans BARELY make this threshhold if at all, because Cuban heritage is as much Castillian as it is Latin American.. thus "european" as it were.

We are headed towards Civil War in the US. It will be bloodshed again. This time we need to thin the herd. The extremists are now openly declaring this is their land. My solution is an AK-47 or M1A1 in .308 caliber. Or they can go home to Mexico. We should immediately militarize the border.

It happened today in Dallas, where I live. The second day in a row. Expel those students involved in cutting classes for this political demonstration. And deport their Parents if they are illegals.

So the way things stand, the deck is stacked against assimilation. If you do not see that narby, you are truely blind.

I hear you. It's just that the deck is stacked higher against any kind of draconian action like many here are advocating.

A fence, sure. But no genuine action against employers will happen unless you want your corner supermarket to close it's produce market for a couple of years while a few million people are hired and moved to a couple of valleys in California.

The alternative is a guest worker program, and that's probably the only thing that will really work and keep things "legal". Any other option will be skirted by lawbreakers on every side, and this problem will continue and get worse.

I want to see these people made legal, so they can feel free to come out of the shadows and be real americans. Until then, they will never assimilate.

We have to roll out the legal "welcome mat" (not the figurative Great Society some have brought up here), or they will stay in their mexican culture forever.

We still have to fix this right, or we'll be right back here again in 20 years, only worse off still.

Surrender to the hordes of illegals is a "fix" in the same way that death is a good night's sleep.

We can turn the tide and reverse it. All it takes is political will.

If you have your way, the Republicans will have no legacy, and communists like Hillary will run this country.

There is no philisophical difference between Bush and Hillary. They are both globalists, both members of the Council on Foreign Relations and both work for big business.

Yeah really especially after he ran for a fourth term after stating a "promise", that he would only run for 3.

Dane ,I've seen you post that several times and always it's the same statement. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?? I don't know anyone..I say ANYONE!That would tell me that they haven't ever, ever reneged on a promise in all their lifetime.Except Jesus Christ.

So,tell me the truth ..what is your real problem with Tom Tancredo? He is for..less government and ruled by the people and you won't hear that from from but a few in the house.Comeon...let's hear it.

LOL!! That's funny!!

OK, I have an old (!) joke. One day, Fidel was giving one of his really long, boring speeches. From somewhere in the back of the snoozing crowd, someone was calling out, "Popcorn! Peanuts! Popcorn! Peanuts!" Well, Fidel tried to ignore it, but it made him mad, especially because the guy went on and on.

Finally, Fidel got so annoyed, he yelled out, "Hey! If you don't stop saying, 'Popcorn' and 'Peanuts,' I'm gonna kick your rear end all the way to Miami!"

Without hesitation, the entire crowd yelled out, "POPCORN! PEANUTS! POPCORN! PEANUTS!"

They're illegals, no matter how you parse it.

Yes they are. And they should be prosecuted for it. But the issue is whether that makes them 'filthy invaders', and whether such rhetoric is helping the conservative side in this.

Keep twisting.. you're starting to look like Chubby Checker.

Hate is the operative word because hate is what THEY are manifesting. And doing so RUDELY in someone else's home. Time for the "guests" to leave now and go back to what they profess to love.

The truth is there for anyone to see, but obviously some WON'T.
