We need coast to coast support for the troops, now, more than ever.
Quote of the Day! Thank you for the ping to another great devotional: indeed, the Lord our God does all things to help and guide us, to provide for and teach and humble and exalt us because He Is Love. Our pain is not 'punishment' from God, but rather opportunity...growing pain! This is why the word above is so good and true: when we have overcome, when we have taken the opportunity provided by our trials to grow and we have endured through the hurting to the joy at the other side of any particular 'cross,' we have the divine resources with which to walk alongside another journeyman with hope, amen.
I liked '16 Blocks.' Did you see it?
You're more adventurous about movies than I am; don't feel drawn to V for Vendetta. I know you keep up with a lot of movies, are there any others you recommend for a traditionalist like me? Hehe.
O, so there are deer. Maybe jackrabbits too? The dogs would chase them.
I liked 16 blocks also and if you liked that you might like V.. there were some interesting elements ..actually intriguing. Politically there were points being made & like it or not it weaved into the story line well. Actually that was at the core of the movie.
If you liked 16 blocks, it seems not to "traditionalist"!!!
Trads like gone w/wind, sleepless in Seattle, dr Z etc..
Gentle recent movies I liked: Nanny McFee, pride & prejudice, Narnia, Pink Panther, Fun with dick & Jane, walk the line,Eight below,Memoirs of a Geisha, king Kong, cache --- (by gentle I mean NO gore/blood per se)
I do want to see Inside man..both it & V were highly rated by rotten tomatoes as new opens worth seeing.
some of the "heavy movies: I liked recently: Capote, harry potter (lots of dark elements), syriana, crash (just saw it again at theater), Matador, Munich,
Hey, I remember that graphic!!! great use/application. Love the nice contributions you make.

Another good one, Mayor.
I am a small and precious child, my dad's been sent to fight. The only place I'll see his face, is in my dreams at night. He will be gone too many days for my young mind to keep track. I may be sad, but I am proud My daddy's got your back. I am a caring mother. My son has gone to war. My mind is filled with worries that I have never known before. Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black. I may be scared, but I am proud My son has got your back. I am a strong and loving wife, with a husband soon to go. There are times I'm terrified in a way most never know. I bite my lip, and force a smile as I watch my husband pack. My heart may break, but I am proud My husband's got your back.. I am a soldier. Serving Proudly, standing tall. I fight for freedom, yours and mine by answering this call. I do my job, while knowing the thanks it sometimes lacks. Say a prayer that I'll come home It's me whose got your back. |
Wonderful poem! & pic Thanks for posting!
