GOP Would Have Booted Jesus: Hill
New York Post Online ^ | March 23, 2006 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton ratcheted up her talk about religion yesterday - saying a GOP-sponsored bill making it a felony to be in the United States illegally would have "criminalized" Jesus.

Clinton, who's considered the Democratic front-runner for the 2008 White House race, made the comments at a hastily scheduled news conference about the House-passed bill aimed at illegal immigrants.

I thought Samaritans were of a different race, not necessarily from a foreign country.

Maybe illegal alien strangers have a bit of responsibility too, eh?

I agree, but we have our own and its not dependent on what the alien does. What does the bible say about our responsibility?, is my questions on this.

If you knew something about the geopolitics of that time, it likely was Alexandria where they went. Alexander the Great established it as a city of refuge for Jews, under the Roman Empire. So, all would have been, ahem, kosher.

...a confederacy of deceivers that, to obtain dominion over men in this present world, endeavour, by dark and erroneous doctrines, to extinguish in them the light, both of nature and of the gospel; and so to disprepare them for the kingdom of God to come.

How about if ten thousand of them showed up at once...and didn't ask for help but demanded it?

Mark 8

Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand
1During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, 2"I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. 3If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance."

4His disciples answered, "But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?"

5"How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked.
      "Seven," they replied.

6He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people, and they did so. 7They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them. 8The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 9About four thousand men were present. And having sent them away, 10he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.

You might give your home to be inhabited by as many illegals as can be stuffed into it, but that doesn't give you the right to give somebody else's home for that purpose. It's more than a country of just you, if you happened to notice.

The discussion here seems to be focusing on illegals from Mexico. I wonder how many Iraqi's, Iranians, Afghans, etc. you would be willing to allow to cross our borders illegally with impunity.

Would God allow harm to a nation that was simply being obedient to his will?

And God was also gracious to a horde of whining, petulant Hebrews more than once. On other occasions they got the zapperoo.

If they be, why are not Christians taught to obey them?

Didn't Jesus give us the second greatest commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves? Is throwing someone out an act of love?

Yes, when Jesus Christ was an infant, he was taken by his parents to Egypt. But Egypt had NO law of which we are aware, prohibiting it. The United States does have laws prohibiting illegal entry, and that is the difference, almost. Joseph was commanded by direct Revelation from God to take the Child to Egypt, which would supersede any law Egypt might have had anyway.

...By "Jesus," she meant her Mexican gardener....

How come Mexicans can name their sons after the Lord but white people can't?

Nice quotes---but note that nowhere is the term ILLEGAL found as a modifier of same, which is what the issue is all about.

ILLEGAL aliens are criminals, pure and simple, and every day they perform the crime of THEFT from our own poor American citizens, and those aliens who "did" come here LEGALLY.

This has to be a voluntary act on the part of a single soul. I can't "obey" by stealing one neighbor's cloak to give it to another, just because the first neighbor is reluctant. Gospel does not scale up past 1.

And Hillary and her ilk would have talked Mary into aborting Jesus.

Would you care to name a nation that is "simply being obedient" to the will of God? You certainly are not referring to the united States of America.

Old Testament-and God was speaking to the Jews, just as he was in all the verses you quoted. And in case you missed it, this ain't Israel. L

I'll repost 12 above because you must of missed it.

Luke 10

29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins[e] and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

Sen. Clinton against illegal immigration(Dec. 13, 2004)

Washington, DC, Dec. 13, 2004(UPI) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's hard-line against illegal immigration is seen by some as the Democrat's attempt to solidify support for a 2008 presidential bid.

Clinton, D-N.Y., who has received the liberal moniker for her efforts as first lady in the 1990s, may be trying to win support in conservative states by coming out against illegal immigration, the Washington Times reported Monday. In fact, the paper reported, Clinton's stance is more conservative than President Bush's, calling for an entry and exit ID system for immigrants. "Bush has done everything he can to leave the doors wide open," said Robert Kunst, president of an Internet group dedicated to drafting Clinton to run for president. "Hillary is the only one taking a position on immigration. She will win that issue hands down."

The MSM would throw a baby in front of a train for this pig.

Hillary has brass to use the Beatitudes to promote her cynical grasp for power:

"Anyone who breaks even the commandment they consider of least importance and teaches others to do the same will be called less than nothing in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever practices and teaches all of the commandments will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. You cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless your righteousness is far beyond the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees."

If she embraces and promotes all that the Catholic Church teaches as social justice, perhaps I won't misperceive her motives, but until then, no.

Whatsoever you do to the least of My brethren, you do unto Me.

Mother Teresa has already stated the poorest of the poor are the not the alien or the neighbor, the poorest of the poor are the babies in the womb murdered for expediency.
