Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton ratcheted up her talk about religion yesterday - saying a GOP-sponsored bill making it a felony to be in the United States illegally would have "criminalized" Jesus.

Clinton, who's considered the Democratic front-runner for the 2008 White House race, made the comments at a hastily scheduled news conference about the House-passed bill aimed at illegal immigrants.

What is she trying to say? That Jesus is a criminal who would break the immigration laws of a nation?

If she doesn't already have zero credibility, Hillary's opportunistic attempts to pervert Scripture, and now Jesus Christ, to fit into her God-hating socialist ideology is despicable.

Guys, guys, guys.

This is great news!
The big issue that I was worried about, immigration reform, is now no longer hers to take away from us.

The Clintons are canny animals, and this is such a stupid statement that it is telling, and reveals something going on in the Clinton collective.

I was concerned that Hilda would play immigration reform against us, but this shows a clear pandering to her base that we can, and will, hold against her.

Now it is early days yet, and it may be that this is fund raising rhetoric that she is counting on the voters forgetting in 08, but I can't see Bill making such a stupid statement before a possible election.
