Hi, longtime lurker and firsttime poster. To the point: I'm looking for the editorial or op-ed that Joe Wilson wrote in, I think, the LA Times not long after the 2003 State of the Union address where he supports the administration.
If my memory serves me, Wilson was in support of the administration until he was hired by the Kerry campaign (April, 2004, maybe?).
For some reason, the whole Wilson-Plame crap is an ongoing argument in my family, and I'm trying to get my facts in line. If anyone can help me, I'd be grateful.
To diverse on a brief, biographic, introductory vanity, I'm a strong conservative in a family the considers the Democratic Party too far to the right. The (maternal) family has always been politically active, and from my earliest days I was exposed to The Daily World, Soviet Life, and other publications and members from the ACP and CPUSA. I do not hide this aspect of my life and offer it here in the interest of disclosure. I am not another David Horowitz, though, because I never accepted the premise of communism/socialism, it always seemed like a bad imitation of true religion. I know who the left really is, what the left really wants, and how they think. And it scares the hell out of me.
My father was conservative but has taken a strong left turn in the last few years.
I am pro-life, pro-gun, pro-private property rights and pro-God. I try to be a good Christian but I know in my heart that I am a sinner. I am happily married to a supportive wife and we have beautiful children. I am a Marine combat veteran and I am one tough SOB. I am a self-employed renovation contractor and I love debate.
And I want my daughters to grow up in a world where they will never have to wear a Burkha or Berkinstocks.
I live in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and am available for activism/support.
That's who I am, and I believe I have a strong community in Free Republic. Now that I'm posting, you'll hear from me often.

Oh shoot, thanks, Miss M. I had forgotten.
I don't know the whereabouts of the Op Ed - but on Rush Limbaugh's website - he has (or had) a link called: "The lies of Joseph Wilson" or something like that! He also listed that item in an issue of the The Limbaugh Letter.
If you don't find it there, you might send Rush an e-mail and ask him to post it again.
Boy newbies used to catch holy heck here LOL! Now we give them a chance (sigh).

Ok, ok, ok! I just got to the bottom of the reply thread, so much to go through. I do appreciate ALL of the help and comments.
Haven't found exactly what I'm looking for yet, but I am sure it's in this extensive list you folks provided.
Many links have hit the "favorites" folder, I'll go through them over the next few days. I'll post the editorial/op-ed in it's entirety when I find it.
Thanks you all very much!
And I do feel welcome here, thanks for that, too.
Hurry.
Wilson said his primary policy difference with President Bush wasnt over Saddams WMDs, but rather on the question of how to construct a policy that gets to the national security issue of disarming Saddam Hussein and does so at minimum risk to other legitimate U.S. interests both in Iraq and in the region.
But aside from that, Wilson said he cheered President Bushs decision to topple the Iraqi dictator, telling Simone: When the president went up to the U.N. and got the [war] resolution unanimously passed at the U.N., nobody applauded louder than I did.
