Today was a busy day for President Bush. This morning he gave a press conference at the White House and answered reporters' questions with fire and passion (including a priceless exchange with Helen Thomas). He then welcomed Liberia's President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to the Oval Office at the White House, and accompanied her to a social luncheon in her honor, where they enjoyed entertainment by the dance group, Moving in the Spirit, and vocal star, Denyce Graves. Later he met with Iraq and Afghanistan non-governmental organizations (with First Lady Laura in attendance as well).
Lots and lots of expressive pictures of our feisty President today, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!
Wow - ohioWfan. You sure were busy yesterday!
Thanks so much for your hard work. The photos from the press conference were terrific - I listened but couldn't watch so it was great to see the pics. It was great to see W go after the press corps and the loyal (a-hem) opposition, too. Hee-hee.
Loved the pics of the Vice President Cheney - bigtime. And then there's Barney tip-toeing through the tulips. Too darn cute!
This is so good it needs to go around another time or two, so bttt!
Cheers - Dinah
Hi DrDeb-
Read your post comparing George W to Lincoln with great interest. It's a comparison I haven't been able to get out of my head since reading Doris Kearns Goodwin's TEAM OF RIVALS. (actually I listened to it on dvd - read by Richard Thomas aka John Boy Walton). If you get a chance to read/listen to it - you should. It is fantastic and really highlights the many parallels between Lincoln and W. I was greatly heartened after reading it and it gave me new perspective on the current bipartisan bs that goes on in DC. It seems that the Dems were a bunch of appeasing backstabbers even then!!! Hah-hah.
Cheers - Dinah
Hi!
Thanks for the Dose.
I was bad. I snuck out of work early yesterday so I could watch the rebroadcast of the presser. I know the President has other things to do, but I wish he could do a weekly prime time press conference. MUCH more entertaining than most of what's on TV.
Man, he was on fire.
And thanks for the BUMP!
On fire BIG time, cod! Once a week suits me just fine. :)
She's sinking like a rock, and the more people get to see and hear her, the deeper she'll go.
You're welcome, Meek. The range of expressions on his face, and the body language to match, was priceless!
ROFLOL!
Mornin' W04Man!
His dog training helps him deal with Helen. ;)
You are a much bigger person than I. I never pity them. Maybe that is wrong, but I simply can not. Those people are unhappy and miserable, but it is their choice.
That was great what Dubya did to Helen Thomas! :o)
What he did to HT at the news conference was PRICELESS!
I was hoome yesterday, so I got to watch the news conferance live. Dubya was HOT, and I still smile when I think of how he handled HT.
Dubya was AWESOME!
SAME HERE, ILW
But wasn't he fantastic yesterday?
To that I could add AND LOADED FOR BEAR!
Helen, excuse me, Helen, uh Helen, please........
How he could be so polite is beyond me. Nasty old hag.
LOL! Yes it was!
What he did to HT at the news conference was PRICELESS!

And yet if she had just acted politely, she would not be the talk of the talk shows today! She brought it on herself, just like so many of those that go up against President Bush - including Saddam and Osama. He always gives people a chance and a choice to "do the right thing."
That's a foreign concept to the hag.
