PRAY for PRESIDENT BUSH - DAY 2000!!!!
In September of the year 2000, this prayer thread for George W. Bush was begun by freeper DittoJed2, who was renewing her Call to Prayer for the nation and the election from March of the same year. It has been posted daily since then, and today we are celebrating the 2000th day of the thread, and most importantly recognizing how God has worked and moved and answered prayers in our nation, and in our President.
We believe that prayer is an essential and Scripturally mandated element of God's working in America, and we are seeking to be obedient to His command to pray for our nation and its leaders.

Prayers for Our Government and Nation
1 Timothy 2:1-4 -I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
2 Chronicles 7: 14 -If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Psalm 33:12 -Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.

James 5:15-16 - And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

When we are in the heat of the battle, and angry at everyone from the Pubs to the Press, it is very easy to get our eyes off of the one to whom the battle belongs. As David said when he faced Goliath, the Battle's Not Mine...It's Yours Lord. We come not with might nor by power but in the Spirit of the Lord. The Battle is His, and the Weapons of His warfare are greater than any that mankind can come up with.
Freepers, this is it. We are quickly winding down to the day of decision. We can do what we can but will go down to defeat if we do not leave it with the Lord. It may be too late anyway, but I choose to press forward, looking to the times in the past where it seemed to be over for a nation and then God stepped in and made all things new. 
Until Election Day, I will post a fresh call to Prayer for our nation and for this election. Let's go Warriors, ON YOUR KNEES!!!!!!!!!

What a beautiful thread. I have felt blessed every day that George Bush has been our President. My prayer is one of thanks to God for sending us this good man. I am truly grateful.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this thread. I didn't know it was Day 2000 ... and I DO thank the Lord every single day that George W. Bush is our president and (secular) leader. This country is so richly blessed, even if half its population doesn't even understand that blessing.

I was so moved by the faithful prayer of freepers for our President even BEFORE he was President that I thought, "This is the kind of place I would like to belong to."
