>>>The law allows employers to be able to get rid of younger employees. Right now employers are reluctant to hire someone they can't fire. <<<

Congratulations! An understandable, accurate, two sentence explanation of what's happening!

You've been able to do something the MSM hasn't been able to explain adequately in my couple of hours watching the riots.

And the founder of France was most likely a native German speaker. And their most famous soldier was a woman. And etc. etc. etc.

This is not legitimate labor unrest.

I do not have enough factual information to determine the legitimacy. France will need to figure it out for themselves.

This is a bunch of punk kids, agitated by leftists, rioting because they can get fired if they don't do their job (which is only 35 hours a week (and lots of breaks), with 6 weeks of vacation anyway).

According to media reports. I have worked in europe, and they do have a shorter workweek than we do. The holiday weeks sort of make up for the lousy socialized healthcare :)

It's much ado about NOTHING. No legitimacy to it.

When out of touch politicians tinker with people's livelihood, people get testy. And the french go on strike and riot. To see a similar parallel here, cruise any illegal immigration thread regarding the labor impacts.

As it does me. I'll never forget that guy standing in front of the tank. He was definitely a guy with the courage to stand up for his convictions.

FLASHBACK:

"On February 29, 1704, a party of French and Indian raiders
descended on the Massachusetts village of Deerfield, killing fifty residents and
capturing more than a hundred others. A force of more
than two hundred Frenchmen, Abenakis, Hurons, Kahnawake Mohawks,
Pennacooks, and Iroquois of the Mountain overran
the northwesternmost village of the New England frontier.
The attackers took 112 men, women, and children captive.
The book Captors and Captives: The 1704 French and Indian Raid on Deerfield (Native
Americans of the Northeast) by Evan Haefeli, Kevin Sweeney
follows the raiders and their prisoners on the harsh
three-hundred-mile trek back to Canada and into French and Native communities."

This is just fantastic. My mom's leaving for Paris tomorrow and is staying somewhere near the Sorbonne. Please everyone pray for her safety, and that of her friends!

Too bad - they used to be a technology leader 100 years ago.

I remember all the fanfare over their Minitel, a phone based text information system they rolled out in 1982.

They were way late to the internet revolution because, "who needs it? We already have ze Minitel".

The oh so superior french are probably pretty embarrassed. LOL

Nah. Liberals are never embarassed except by the actions of others. They always exempt their own behavior from embarassment.
