Canteen Music Dedication
Click for our National Anthem! (remove your caps please!)
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand, Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust" And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

For All The Divas Of The Canteen
Facing Dad
I woke up this morning and Mother was gone!
She must have taken my sisters way out beyond
The ridge that seems to disappear in the sunny haze
A journey there and back would take most of a day
Leaving me to fend for myself all alone!
A small Lion cub all on his own
With many skills and talents waiting to be honed
Padding slowly, yet with purpose here and there
Eyes constantly moving while tasting the dry warm air
For anything that looked or smelled like it didn't belong there
Climbing up a ridge, shadows revealed dried noisy brush
As bits of rock and dust trickled down in a drizzling rush
It was then that I spotted a large and odd looking mound
I steeled myself and approached down wind, trying to not make a sound
As my Dad magically emerged from the rustling brush and sun dried clay
Huge, Wise and Majestic, Dad shook dust from his mane
His golden eyes riveted me, looking for sloth or decay
Watching my every move without a sign of disdain
I felt all fuzzy inside, determined not to run away
As I brushed by his mane and Dad whispered my name
I expected Dad to roar and read me the Riot Act
But you don't get to be King Of The Beasts without using tact
He noted the things I'd done, more right than wrong
But he emphasized the wrong things, for with those life is not long
As I drank in his words which sounded almost like a song
So, every so often, Dad and I play this game
Each time more difficult and sometimes not as tame
Applying what I've learned from the time that I rise
Mother and my sisters sometimes think I'm arrogant and going through a fad
But I want us all to grow up to be as Big and Wise as My Dad!

The request was for "The Moody Blues" No specific song requested. The two songs I played by them are two that I already had. :)

WHOA!! No kidding??
When I was in college, I was the DJ for the 9-midnight show on the campus Christian radio station on Friday night. The station was geared towards CCM (more mellow) stuff, but from 10 - midnight on Fridays I played the hard stuff. We had some Bride and I know I played it, but I don't rmemeber song titles!! WOW! Small world!
I don't have any, but I WILL go looking!!
Hey lauren, will you look too??
