"Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Truman ... they knew what was at stake and played for keeps. I'll never understand why W let the Left get away with it."
Boy your historical understanding of Korea and Truman is really, really weak. You might want to go read about why a guy name Douglas MacArthur got fired by Truman.
Counter Insurgency is a LOT different then Total war. I suggest the Arm Chair Generals leave the military strategy to the pros since it kind of obvious they know NOTHING about it. This is NOT total war. This is limited war. It is as much political as war. LOTS different then island hopping or driving a column off the beach in Normandy during WW2 or holding a hill in Korea or even running a patrol in Viet Nam. This is completely different then any war we have ever fought. Tite slogans and simplistic sound bites do NOT work for this. Read about the El Salavador Option. We have done this before.

"And, if the president really wants to convince the US public he is serious about winning he will take out the damn terrorist training camps in Syria with a US and Iraqi offensive."
This may simply be the true state. Surely most Americans at this point understand the problems are not just going to go away by doing nothing. The POTUS must get on the pulpit and carefully re-iterate what must be done, in a way a majority can understand.
As for more troops. It would be indicative of our failure to properly train and equipe the new Iraqi army. And though some elements of the Iraqi society may actually at this point like us and want us to stay, as well as some of their leadership, we have to face the fact. They want to run their own affairs. A constantly sticky situation at best. Be damn if you do, be damn if you don't.

I'm thinking something like that. Like they got wind of a big bad guy convention. Decided to invite themselves. Decided to invite themselves? How rude! And I bet President Bush didn't even ask the Democrats is this would be OK. Yet another cause for his censure. C'mon you pusillanimous cur Feingold, have at it!

Wow... Didn't realize I had a highhorse. I must have one though because as I survey the landscape I can see a lot of complaining nitpickers.
You don't understand what is happening. The actual end of the news day is shep's show at 7:00 but many like you and I quit after Brit. The day is over.
In the event of real news later , it will be covered during the entertainment segments.
The reruns are for the Foxviewers overseas who watch while we sleep. The reports are also picked up by Skynews when they are awake while we sleep. Fox news is global. It doesn't need to report everything over and over live when the audience in mostly asleep.
I choose to defend what is good and Fox News is very good.
Trivial nitpicking is wasted bandwidth.
