Thanks for the info! Looks like all okay now, except for the driver of the truck!
Update:
No threat after Navy shuts down road near sub base
GROTON, Conn. -- The Navy restricted traffic near the Groton submarine base Monday while investigating a potential bomb threat.
A search dog detected a suspicious scent on a truck carrying boxes through the main gate at about 6:30 a.m., the Navy said. The Navy increased base security and asked an explosive team from Newport, R.I., to investigate, said Arianne Anderson, a base spokeswoman.
Early Monday evening, after inspecting the boxes, the Navy determined there was no threat and reopened the road to traffic.
"Our established security procedures and threat response worked well today," said Capt. Sean Sullivan, the base commander.

Maybe it is Cmdr Dick Marcinko and his boys...for real, this time.

I also think that all of these aircraft that "accidentally" fly into unauthorized space are "testing."Nah -- you'd be surprised how many genuine mistakes are made in the air traffic system, by both pilots and ATC.

There was a time, when that truck would have been eviscerated by heavy weapons gunfire and the little muhammed behind the wheel would have been chaff...but that would have been during wartime...
Havent you all heard? The War is waaaaaay over there, just ask the press and your liberal friends....

Probably had a delivery to the dry cleaners across the street from gate #1.

I had to get on base about 5-6 times in my career with "Brand X" copiers. Each time I had to go into a guard house, bring my driver's license, proof of car insurance and one other government issued ID. Then I had to be "Called in" as they called it to the officer with whom I had the appointment. Once cleared, a 15-20 minute process on a good day and only after they got to know me, I had to drive past the biggest friggin Marine guard, a man for whom the side arm was probably merely ornamental.
Good luck getting on base without clearance at the Groton sub base. It would be easier to sneak out of hell.

I haven't seen a Marine guard at a gate in Groton since about 1986. You're really showing your age!
