Did Race play a role in the Port Deal discussions? The very charge is met by the likes of Sean Hannity and others with Righteous Indigination. In fact, to mention it makes you the true problem. Mark Levin in fact called a MAjor General a dirtbag over that charge. The below cartoons may be an issue now in the UAE. They are not cartoons about that ole darn prophet however. THere will be no boycotts over these but remember still they dont help things. The cartoonist just give us what we want sometimes. From MSNBC the following cartoon. There were many others that through the glory of the net are available to all.
I didn't know holdnow was Mark Levin. That explains his post in response to my thread berating Hannity. Hannity gave Levin his national exposure. Of course he'll defend Hannity.
The British haven't been told by their god to kill us. I don't recall them jacking airplanes and flying them into buildings. I personally think that we should leave the sensitive jobs to Americans who have passed a rigorous security screening. It's not fail safe, but would go a long way to prevent another atrocity. Again, just my opinion.
I'm with you. I haven't posted here much recently. When holdonow posted a response to me a few days ago, I had no idea he was Levin. Now, in retrospect, his post makes more sense. Why should posters here be expected to assume they're communicating with a talk show host? I suppose those who are regulars would know. I would just assume that most high profile people would not want to disclose who they are and, unless I were very familiar with a poster, I'd be skeptical of anyone who claimed to be a public figure.
I understand, and trust me, I don't think the Business part of the deal was such a big deal...I just think Abizaid should have kept himself out of the whole thing, like a good military man (and I should know, since I wear the uniform.)
Dang....it WAS Abbott and Costello....I knew I had it wrong.
Thanks for correcting it...although the impact is not so much today....LOL
bump for later reading
Actually, I believe Rush got Mr Levin in the spotlight before Hannity...I think (I could be wrong) Mr Levin is Rush's famous "F. Lee Levin."

Youre right. Read Jim Robs comments on that thread. He told her by FReep mail that she was talking to Mark and to knock off her libelous smears. She ignored Jim Rob and he bounced her.
I wouldn't have known because if I'm on a busy thread where I'm the one answering other people's posts, I don't go back to the main page, I hit refresh, read the new comments and spend time responding. I wouldn't have seen Jim's FReepmail until it was too late. So I don't know that bayourant was ignoring Jim.
Yeh, yeh not so much impact today ......... I'm always a little late and "the last one to know".
****
"Something So Right" (a very haunting and meaningful song) ---- by Simon and Garfunkel..... has "the last one to know" as a lyric........ darn I wish these drugs would wear off (kidding).
;-)
Mark is a stand up guy. I didnt see the Hannity thread youre talking about, so I cant comment.
Rush was the first to give Mark national exposure and Hannity has been good to him in that area so I suspect they are friends.
Mark is a good friend of FR going back to almost the beginning. Those of us who went to Washington for the demonstrations calling for Clintons impeachment got to know him fairly well. I know he was at the first two and think he at least stopped by the others. I know quite a few of us had discussions with him on several trips to D.C. I just can't remember which trip was which right now.
In person, Mark is even sharper than he is on the air. He is also gracious and has a quick whit. At the second FR rally, the one on the Capital steps, Mark joined the pre-rally cocktail party and was generous with his time as well as his opinions and support for what we were doing.
I doubt that you can find a single FReeper who was at any rally or event with Mark who has anything but kind words to say about him. He certainly doesnt deserve to be libeled, especially on this site.
You are right.
Did you read what JimRob posted? Jim said he ignored him. I'm just going by what Jim said. Until I see proof that contradicts him, I'll take Jim's post as true.
I am not referring to you. I said a major conservative talk show host. Also look at the what I wrote. THe fact that when people say race played no factor at all by anyone is ludricous. I know many that race did not play a factor in this. Others not so. These images are circulating in the UAE now. Better to confront the issue athan ignore it.
Again, I am not referring to you. But acting like racial sterotypes were not used in this debate is silly. There were many that had national security concerns and cited those. Again I am not reffering to you. Again if the contrast between cartoons today and cartoons yesterday offends you I am sorry. Buts its to prove a point. THis is going to be a matter of debate. THese editoralcartoons are now starting to circulate in the blogsphere. It might be a issue we have to confront when we say race was never a issue. Attack the issue by saying that cartoon artist use sacarism to reach a point. Perhaps the cartoon artist has a hidden point with it. But dont attack me I am just the messenger
I guess the point is moot as Jim has spoken, but I still think that bayourant honestly believed that Mark said what he thought he said. I had to listen to the tape 3 times to really understand him and bayourant only listened to it once. I thought he called the General a mudball at first and hey mudball - dirtbag, not much of a difference there.
When holdonnow first came in the thread I thought he was a lunatic. I've been reading the board since 2000 and I didn't know he was Mark Levin. If he had been posting to me like that I would have told him to shove off. I thought bayourant was being as nice as he could be to the lunatic poster.
I think bayourant acted in misunderstanding and confusion and I think it's a shame that he got banned so quickly, but it's Jim's board and we are all his guests here and I appreciate having this board to come to. I'll trust Jim's judgement and sense of fairness even if I don't really understand it.
Good point.
Obviously you two have been or are...so you are up on military protocol.
I will defer to you that what Abizaid said was not not allowed under the Military Code of Conduct."
You don't have to be military (I'm not) to know what the protocol is.
We do know Abizaid's timely comments were not a coincidence, nor was he reprimanded because he was obviously given a green light.
Um, yes, I read what Jim posted otherwise I couldn't have made mention of it and explained how I might have also inadvertantly seemed to have been ignoring a FReepmail from Jim (or from anyone for that matter).
He seems like a great guy and, dare I say, one of the few things worth listening to on Hannity's show.
Do you really think I care what somebody who said this
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1595284/posts?page=181#181
thinks about me?
FGS, he did to hole_n_one the EXACT same thing he had a fit about bayourant doing to him!
Very impressive.
