Washington Post which is cutting 80 Newsroom Jobs & closing at least two foreign bureaus due to declining circulation & reduced ad.earnings.

..because we would not want people in DC and other readers of the WaPo to learn more about countries outside the US.

Fox News ratings slide 15 to 20% during February. Slide is almost equal on all the shows - the most affected was H&C which lost a little over half million viewers and down to #4 from #2 status.

I guess many of us used our remote controls at nine pm! I wonder what Hannity's radio numbers are now?

What's Joe's wartime strategy?

He's going to put pressure on folks (doesn't say who) by talking to them. He also says the President should be on a plane, doesn't say to where. I guess he missed the recent trip to Afganistan, India and Pakistan. I'm pretty sure the President used a plane to get there.

he can't believe the incompetence with which it was fought.

And this despite all the enthusiastic encouragement and support it was given by the Dems and the MSM.

I am stomaching Russert and Biden. Not for long though.
Allen is doing good -- not buying into us pulling out this summer if Iraq's government is not in place.

Yes he did not stand for reelection last time it was widely believed he would not have been reelected.

Thanks for that. I assume you are right, but another FReeper earlier on this thread told me that Ms. Dole beat him. I did not remember that she had.

;-)

Great stuff Anita. Just proves one more time that President Bush is a moral man who says what he believes and believes what he says. I think that's at least part of what happened last week. We learned who the political hacks were and who the phonies were in our Congress. It's just my opinion but I believe that the President sees through political BS and is willing to acknowledge a man as a man or in some cases a country as it really and truly is instead of what it is stereotyped or reinvented as. It's easy to say all Arabs or Moslems see us as infidels and we should just shoot or be wary of them all, much less do business with them. But the truth is we are all individual people. Look at my religion. I am Methodist. Bill and Hillary Clinton are Methodist, if I am not mistaken so is the President. What happens if we start stereotyping all Methodists, were does that all end up? We need to wake up and see a person as a person and at times a country as a country. A Glaring example at hand of course would be Dubai/UAE. debacle. I think last week the President was able to see through all the haze, fog and BS generated by Congress and was willing to allow the UAE and even recommend their getting leases on some of our ports. Meanwhile in Congress both parties seized on the opportunity to demagogue a country,UAE,one surrounded by brutal enemies, to re-classify them as simply Arabs. They no longer were our allies in the WOT, no longer were providers of a safe haven for our ships, CIA bases and no longer were providers of valuable intel in the WOT they simply became Arabs. And worse than that we embarrassed the leader of their country in front of the entire world. I think the President saw through all that and was able to see the UAE/Dubai for what it has been to us, a loyal ally and stood firm in the midst of a Congressional sellout for political gain on both sides. This is only one reason why he continues to be my President and a great world leader. President Bush is not afraid to stand up and embrace the idea that; these people(UAE) have been our allies, friends, providers of valued intel in the WOT and he supports them. He is a man of convictions, something we desperately need in the Congress today, and I stand by his side as I urge all freepers to do as well.

Suddenly, MSNBC reporter Norah O-Duh!-nel showed up & asked DeLay why he was in Washington. DeLay replied - "Do you know what the Patriot Act is? Have you heard of it? I just voted on it."

What a brilliant smack down and shows total ignorance by the reporter.

Actually, I think Edwards is fairly intelligent--he just has fallen in with the wrong crowd.

Edwards is definitely intelligent.  He's a very successful trial lawyer.  As such, however, he's trained to put forward whatever information will win his case and suppress, discredit or ignore anything else, regardless of any moral or ethical considerations.  "Winning" overrides all other concerns.  "It's how the system works."

The bad crowd he fell in with was the ABA.  That then led him to the "hard stuff," the dims.

Yeah, I guess when Colmes is 100% against the President and Hannity is not 100% for President the show becomes unfair & unbalanced.

Allen is holding his own against Biden and Russert.

Yes, he's getting better and is ready for Timmy's crappy tactics. He also co-opts Biden by repeating things the says with which one can easily agree.

Excellent. He really ticked off a couple of Thread regulars last time. Hope he is getting better at managing the spin. Newt and Haley Barbour were formidable at it. What ever else you think of them, they knew how to manage the Junk Journalists. I remember one time some moron Talking Head, Larry King I think, was ranting at Haley about how big a mistake it was for "you Republicans" to have opposed the Civil Rights act. Haley just look at him and said "Me???, I was in Junior High". It was just a complete knock out.

Hunter should take a cue from Bill Thomas and retire for the good of the party. He's making a complete fool of himself.
