Boortz: "GOOD FOR ARIZONA! IT'S ABOUT TIME"

GOOD FOR ARIZONA! IT'S ABOUT TIME

Arizona's Governor Janet Napolitano has ordered additional National Guard troops to the Arizona / Mexico border. The goal is to help stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border. There were already 170 Guardsmen on the border, no word on how many more will head down there.

Napolitano gets that part right ... sending more troops. She gets this part wrong. She says that we are not at war with Mexico. Sorry, but in a very real sense we are at war with Mexico. We're being invaded.

The Mexican government is sending waves of its citizens into the United States for the specific purpose of draining money from the US economy and having it sent back to Mexico. The Mexican government has some real problems with funding needed social services. Every dollar that an illegal worker in the US sends back to his family in Mexico is a dollar that the Mexican government doesn't have to spend to provide needed services to that family.

And just how many dollars are we talking about? Try $15 billion. This flow of money is important enough to the Mexican economy that the Mexican government actually promotes the wave of illegal immigration by printing comic books with instructions to Mexicans as to how to cross the border into the US, stay alive and get a job, all without being caught.

It's an economic invasion, and American workers are footing the bill. At least we have one governor who isn't afraid to take some action.

The Gov ordered it because there was about to be a bill passed (which she has vowed to VETO) requiring NG troops along the border.

If the bill passed and her veto could not be sustained, NG troops would be there until the Legislature pulled them out.
BUT by ordering them there, and if her VETO stands, she can pull those troops a week later and the illegals can resume entering the country.

If the Democrats were to come to the fore on immigration control, the Republicans will lose control of Congress for their quisling, do-nothing approach to this disaster. Just as the Dims made hay with the Portgate deal, the Republicans will be hammered on immigration. Fortunately for the Republicans, the Dims as a group probably will not become strong border/immigration control advocates. But Presidente Bush and our House of Lords Republican Senators better stop fiddling on this issue; Rome is burning.

Drive down to Cochise County today and let me know how many guardsmen you see! This is a political ploy for political reasons.

I fully agree it's a ploy.

Napolitano is grandstanding IMHO - she is a clever politician. The NG is not needed at the ports crossings, they are needed in the vast desert areas. The BP is doing a grand job with some help from the Minutemen. Janet is politicizing a situation she should have handled early on and getting credit where credit isn’t due.

Napolitano is putting on a show. She needs to put thousands of troops on the border and keep them there, but of course she's just sending hundreds that probably will be doing very little to really stop the flow.

The Mexican government is sending waves of its citizens into the United States for the specific purpose of draining money from the US economy and having it sent back to Mexico.

And W wants to legitimize these illegals and let them work. Then they send the money ($15 billion) back to Mexico. And this is helping our economy how?

It is a political ploy, I'm afraid, and a dangerous one at that. Unless she or the NG command has properly defined the Rules of Engagement, the troops are in grave danger. She's a Democrat, right? They have a habit of sending troops and then telling them that they can't shoot anybody. That's why we wasted lives in Korea and Vietnam both - Truman (D) and Johnson (D) - and that's why we still have folks in Bosnia - Clinton (D).

Actually, if all these illegals are amnestied that $15 bil will turn into much more. The illegals will NOT stay in the jobs they are in now, they will move up. That is what happened the last amnesty.
And then of course we will need more illegals to fill the jobs that the newly amnestied ones left.
It is a cycle that feeds on itself.

I have been preaching this for over a year now.........governors of states have the right to call out the national guard. If the feds won't take care of the problem, then the individual states must do it themselves..

Arizona's Governor is a total fake. She just veto'd a bill that would have given the State moneys to send troops to the border. She's been doing this 2-faced dance ever since she came into office. Arizona needs to vote her out again!

....and another grandstander

"More flummoxing are the political declarations today of Hillary Clinton. After a long studied silence on the immigration issue, Ms. Clinton finally spoke out today saying that some of the Republican border reform plans currently out there would set up a "police state." (My, my America is an accelerated decline -- moving from plantations to police states in barely a months time!)

everyone says its for jobs..now if you believe that our economy is slowing....higher interest rates...oil prices high...then all of these illegals that have the starter jobs will lose them....then watch the costs go up as they all go on welfare and free healthcare etc....and they won't go back...

JD Hayworth was on Fox Wednesday morning stating that Napolitano's sending the Guard to the border is a joke. He said they would doing things like repairing computers and trucks.

The bill passed, she vetoed it, and there still haven't been any additional forces sent to the border.

The Arizona House has already begun new legislation calling her bluff...

I can't listen to Neal anymore, okay? He seems to be right on most issues I think are important, okay? It's just that he has a verbal crutch he can seem to get rid of, okay?

I couldn't believe the positive spin this story was getting, makinge HER look like the hero. I live in AZ. She announced in here State of teh State address this year she would send troops only if the federal government paid for them.

The Republican legislature said, hey we have a budget surplus here, why not use THAT $$ to pay for the troops if you think it's such a priority. So they passed the bill to make her deploy the NG w/o fed $$.

The story hits Drudge and all the news services about how the AZ GOV is sending troops to the border. She's stolen the issue from the republicans, who had backed her into a corner by forcing her to put up or shut up on her statement.

So today she vetos the bill.

Wonder if Drudge will have those 3 inch headlines about this like he had yesterday for his inaccurate story about her actions.
