PAKISTANI PASTOR DEMANDS SECURITY FROM THE POLICE
By Sheraz Khurram Khan
Special Correspondent for Assist News Service in Pakistan
MULTAN, MIAN CHANNU, PAKISTAN (ANS) -- A local priest whose church was attacked by some intruders on Thursday night, March 30, has appealed to the police to provide more security to the Christian residents of the area.
A group of unidentified people allegedly broke into a church in Mian Channu, a town about 100 kilometers (60 miles) east of Multan. The attackers managed to escape after breaking and torching the furniture of the church.
Nathaniel Barkat, a priest at the church, reportedly said they had asked for police protection because they were still shaken by the attack.
We were sleeping in our room near the church at the time. We dont know who did it, the Associated Press (AP) quoted Nathaniel as saying.
The culprits are still at large. So far, we have made no arrests, but officers are seriously investigating this incident, and we will soon find those who did this shameful act, the local police chief, Sajjad Khan, who was quoted by the AP.

"'Taleban' kill Turkish engineer"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A Turkish engineer has been shot dead by suspected Taleban militants while working on a road construction project in western Afghanistan, officials said.
The engineer was pulled from his car and shot when travelling along the border of Farah and Nimroz provinces.
His body was set alight by the militants, an official said.
Militants have repeatedly attacked US-funded road works in Afghanistan and have killed or kidnapped several foreign workers in the past year.
The Turkish engineer was travelling with three police guards on Sunday when gunmen in another car forced their vehicle to stop.
The three guards were released."

Reported Crash Near Dover AFB (Delaware)
DOVER, DE-April 3, 2006 - A huge military cargo plane has crashed near the Dover Air Force Base. It is believed to be a C5 - the 5th largest aircraft to ever take the skies.
Action News has learned that the crash occurred near or along Route 9, in the Delaware capital, near Dover Air Force Base The first report came just after 7 a.m. We know that several ambulance units have been called to the scene. We do not know the seriousness of the crash, the amount of injuries, or the extent of property damage.
The aircraft is two and a half football fields long, and more than six stories high.
Action News will follow this story throughout the morning.
They should get a handle on their facts. It's 247 feet long. Still big, but not the size of an aircraft carrier.
SB....you should know by now that they no longer care about "facts" in journalism.
This has been in my thoughts recently, I only wish they would run! And may I add that folks would be smart enough to know we are in trouble and support them.
I have to run, BBL :(
