"No terrorism in deadly Toronto doughnut shop explosion: police"

CBC News
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Police have ruled out terrorism as the cause of an explosion at a Tim Hortons doughnut shop in a trendy downtown area of Toronto on Sunday, killing one man.
The victim was likely an arsonist or attempting suicide, Staff Sgt. Don Cole of Toronto police told reporters hours after the explosion.
"He's not a strap-on al-Qaeda bomber guy," Cole said. "It sounds to me like a guy who either wanted to do a torch job or commit suicide."
Police said the man apparently carried a can of gasoline into a washroom stall about 1 p.m. local time at the doughtnut shop in the city's Yorkville area, and set off a flash fire that killed him."
I wonder why they first said there was a device, and now it's a gas can. No one would ever call a gas can a "device". Were they lying when they first said device, or just changing the story? Do they want the possible other cell bombers to think they aren't discovered?
Just wondering.

"Three Killed in Istanbul Bus Attack"
By BENJAMIN HARVEY, Associated Press Writer Sun Apr 2, 6:47 PM ET
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ISTANBUL, Turkey - A group of men stopped a passenger bus and tossed gasoline bombs at it, sending the vehicle careening into pedestrians and killing three in Turkey's largest city on Sunday as pro-Kurdish riots continued to spread.
In the country's heavily Kurdish southeast, a pro-Kurdish demonstrator was killed, and local officials blamed police for his death.
Clashes between Kurdish demonstrators and security forces have spread from the southeast to Istanbul, which has a large Kurdish population.
In the attack in Istanbul's Bagcilar district, the driver reversed his flaming vehicle onto a sidewalk after the bombing, running down a group of people nearby, police said. At least two of those killed were elderly women, and police said they suspected Kurdish militants were behind the attack.
Television images showed the bus propped up on the sidewalk and engulfed in flames, which shot out of every broken window.
Private NTV television said men had gathered around after the attack and shouted slogans for an outlawed Kurdish separatist group that is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union."

There was a Public Announcement for Turkey I posted on this thread:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/pa/pa_turkey.html
OPINION: A gas can is not a device, in my opinion.
A gas can connected to something or when lit with
a lighter and a reaction occurs; maybe in the broad
sense that total package might be considered a device.
Anyway, I hate to speculate out loud why the articles
vary to such a degree. I'm not an expert.

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A small group of neo-Nazis that gathered at the Capitol Sunday afternoon was outnumbered nearly tenfold by counter-demonstrators.
Fewer than 10 members of the National Socialist Movement stood on the Capitol steps waving swastika flags. They had been scheduled to demonstrate at Sylvester Park downtown.
The group was met by more than 100 protestors who had moved a planned rally at Heritage Park to counter the demonstration. "

"Spain expels African illegals"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Madrid - Spain has begun expelling African would-be immigrants to Mauritania, from where they had travelled to the Canary Islands, said reports on Monday.
According to reports, instead of being taken to a Spanish-built camp in the port of Nouadhibou, from where most of them had left for the Canaries, the first group comprising 50 Senegalese and Malians were taken to Nouakchott in order to send them straight back to their countries."

"Do You Have Any Idea Who I Am?
Congresspersons behaving badly"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Ever heard this line before? There are also some close variants, such as Do you know who my mother/father/third cousin is? If you havent, my bet is that youve never been a cop, or you havent been one for very long. There seems to be a never-ending and constantly-replenished supply of self-important jerks who believe that the rules and customs that the rest of us follow do not apply to them. Most of the time, dealing with these folks is just amusing, and has given rise to some great comeback lines. But last Wednesday, The Honorable Cynthia McKinney, Member of the United States House of Representatives, took this to the level of an art form.
Ms. McKinney was passing through a security checkpoint at a House office building on Capitol Hill. Security for congressional facilities is provided by the U.S. Capitol Police, a force of over 1100 officers with a sparkling reputation for professionalism and dedication to duty (especially when compared to the record of the body they protect). The checkpoint was equipped with a metal detector, but Members of Congress are allowed to walk around it if they choose. Ms. McKinney did this, but she was not wearing the lapel pin given to Members, and the officer manning the checkpoint didnt recognize her (she had changed her hairstyle since her official picture was taken, and had a substantially altered appearance).
The details at this point get a little fuzzy. The officer tried to get her attention by asking her to stop, and may have grabbed her arm. Ms. McKinney responded by, depending on which account you read, slapping or punching the officer, or hitting him with her cell phone.
Now, if anyone else did this, they would find themselves in handcuffs and on their way to the slammer. Hitting a cop for any reason has some serious consequences, and rightly so. But congresspersons are protected from arrest under Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution so long as Congress is in session. This clause does not protect Members once the session ends, and warrants for crimes committed during the session can be served on them at any time afterward."

This announcement, in view of recent immigration issues, is poorly timed. At least they haven't announced ribbon cutting ceremonies yet. The bridge is necessary to keep illegals from drowning - this way they have a safe route to our country (gritting teeth and questioning the motives of whoever sanctioned this and remembering the adage "build it and they will come....").

Motorist Opens Fire On Hell's Angels Biker

AP) WEST HAVEN, Conn. A motorist opened fire on a group of Hell's Angels motorcyclists along Interstate 95 on Sunday, killing one and injuring another, police said.
The bikers were traveling near West Haven around 3:30 p.m. when they were shot, said State Police spokesman Sgt. J. Paul Vance.
Police were considering a number of possible motives including road rage, and were searching for a sport utility vehicle with Florida license plates, Vance said.
Roger Mariani, 61, of Stratford, pulled over before realizing he had been shot in the upper torso, Vance said. He later died at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Paul Carrol, 37, of Bridgeport, who was grazed by a bullet, was treated at the hospital and released, Vance said.
