Dubai Ports Worls to divest itself of all American interests
It is unbelievable to me that I live in a country that publishes remarks by Bill Clinton and Jimmuh Carter as gospel truth. It is unbelievable that our government would even consider a Muslim country to handle our ports (or anything else), after 9/11.
I am just very concerned about a deal not only cheered by the traitors mentioned above, but what of Shillary's opposition? We the people are being played! I want to believe that we actually have allies in the Middle East (besides Israel), but do they obey their Quran in the UAE? If they do, they have no business having one inch of control over things such as American ports. JMO...
"I would do the same if it were my choice. I don't associate with people who impugn my character and motives.
The loss of one of our few allies in that region, one who lets us use their country to house and stage our troops, is a big blow to our logistical and intelligence capabilities. For avoiding a minimum security risk we have lost real assets in our war with Islamic terrorists.
I wish facts mattered enough to people that they would spend the time to find them. And I wish some would learn that xenophobia is not a suitable substitute for reason.
Common sense and logic loses to politics and knee-jerk behavior again."
I am not :blindly loyal" to the President, just blindly loyal to facts, logic, and perspective.
And I don't I don't see any name-calling,,,,,except may be the "knee-jerk" thing. But with so many Americans that cannot name a single sitting Supreme Court Justice, why should anyone believe otherwise.
Be gald to debate any point you want to make as to why we should single out UAE for this treatment. Do you want to debate or just call me "blindly loyal" as a "substitute for a debate tactic"?
PresidentFelon
LOL, thank you Rodney.
So your idea of a friendship is that it is purely a one way street, that you can insult a friend, slander their reputation, and threaten their economic interests and they should just bend over and take it? So the UAE is suppose to buy Boeing's passenger jets and give the US Navy unlimited use of its ports and we pay that back by kicking them in the a** and if they don't say "Thank you sir, may I have another?" then they're not true friends? I would suggest sir that it is the US that is not a true friend. If your idea of friendship is to screw over a friend and then declare them disloyal when they don't just sit back and take it, then I am glad we're not friends.
I never said thje fruit of Muslim culture was great, I just don't paint 20% of humanity with the same ignorant brush strokes you do
You disgust me and I am ashamed that I share the same species of animal with you.
I don't do animals so you can have my share of them, just don't get caught ... it's against the law here.
Remember, baaaa means no.
I think it's reasonable for Dubai (the gov't) to be in a bit of a huff over this. However, DPW is the one who pulled the deal. Seems most of the huffing and puffing is being done here. If they get their nose out of joint then we give them their time to react. It's not the end of the world and someone at DPW has probably heard the word "no" before. So many histrionics for something that will probably barely be a blip on the radar screen a year from now.
"The deal was not "proposed" by the Bush Administration. The terminals were put up for bid by P & O and no American company wants to deal with the Longshoremen, so DPW's bid was tops."
Eggs Ackley! And also, weren't they going to manage 6 terminals out of about 100 terminals at those 6 ports? I thought I read that somewhere.
Dubai Ports World purchased the global port assets of U.S. freight rail company CSX Corporation in 2005 for $1.15 billion.
Dubai Ports has international operations in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Germany, Romania, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, India, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea and Australia in addition to the UAE.
Again, you assume those opposed to the deal are by default anti-Arab.
By the way, much of our biz is done with SA, AE, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq and Egypt.
not all americans. any more it's mostly the anglos that are stupid. been to any middle school math nights lately? LOL. Anglo kids are too busy planning the spring break party to worry with reciprocation. The kid with the funny name and his dad literally runs circles around the cute anglos. Hey maybe that's why we can't get the hang of this port deal. You have to understand reciprocation.
I've stayed out of the debate, because no matter what you say, you'll get slammed by someone (it seems.) I think almost everyone has handled this issue poorly.
Exactly!
I agree. I posted that yesterday. Even Trump knows not all business deals go through; it's all in the game.
I admit my question to the other poster was not all "sincere," if you understand ...
Interesting, how would you think they will react to the news that you pppose the DPW deal? And one more time would you mind restating your exact opposition to the deal?
Congratulations Republicans, you just got snookered by Schumer and Clinton.
It would kill business if we inspected many more of those containers. When you hear some Dem complain about only 5% being inspected, it's simply a uninformed canard. If we doubled that, 90% would still go un-inspected. Are they going to pay for the extra inspections? Are they willing to take the heat for congestion that causes delays that cause people's business to suffer?
Bingo.... thanks for summing it up in so few and concise words.
What to do now?
SNORT! But I only have eyes for ewe....
