A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Hi Finest Friends...Giz here. It's Pet Day at the Finest. Please join us for a repeat of one of Rusty and my favorite threads!!!! (Fred the Cat thought it was silly...sigh...thats cats for you) Anyway, today we read what some of our finest canine friends might write to God...(These were sent to mom via email, maybe you too, but we thought they were cute enough to illustrate!) ENJOY!

DEAR GOD FROM THE DOG

Dear God, When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?
Dear God, We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear God, Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom if ever, smell one another?

Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake a paw to get in?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Why do my owners go to the bathroom in the best freshwater bowl in the house?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Let me give you a list of a few things I must remember to be a good dog :
I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it, or after they throw it up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom and Dad's laps.
The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do not need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm lying under the coffee table.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not throw up in the car.
I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the carpet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay...Giz back here...hope you enjoyed this...let me add one more...as many of you know I was a "dumped stray" who was "taken in" by my folks as many of our FreeperPets have been....Before I take my nap let me add.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, in case I haven't said so....thanks for finding us such special homes on earth especially for those of us lucky to live with Freepers. Life is good!

Yeah, Roxy looks like several dogs in our area. My neighbor even had a femail named Roxy that looked like her....except that Roxy had a corkscrew tail.

This is Hoppy Grace..She was rescued when she was a kitten by my daughter in a Burger King parking lot with a deep cut that went from one back leg to the other, involving a muscle. It looked deliberately cut. She loves petting but does not want to ever be picked up. She is grateful but shy and wary.

LOVE your tagline!!!! :o) Since Clooney hails from Southern Ohio (or Northern Kentucky, it's considered one big metropolitan area)...there's almost a hero worship factor here. His uncle just unsuccessfully ran for something (thank god)!

Far from being an obstacle to our spiritual growth, pain can be the instrument of it—if we're trained by it. It can push us closer to God and deeper into His Word. It is a means by which He graciously shapes us to be like His Son, gradually giving us the compassion, contentment, tranquility, and courage we long and pray for. Without pain, we wouldn't be all that God wants us to be. His strength shines brightest through human weakness.

I personally testify that this is the truth! Our God wastes nothing and redeems it all for those who are in the Redeemer! Amen.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that YOU had a chinchila coat. I just remember (and this dates me) about 40 years ago chinchila coats were a big thing. I'm not a peta whacko type person and don't necessarily get bothered with mink coats (although I have no personal desire to have one) when I saw nagida's soft little furry things that can be a house pet....awe.....
