A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

DEAR GOD FROM THE DOG
Dear God, When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?
Dear God, We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom if ever, smell one another?
Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake a paw to get in?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Why do my owners go to the bathroom in the best freshwater bowl in the house?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, Let me give you a list of a few things I must remember to be a good dog :
I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it, or after they throw it up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom and Dad's laps.
The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do not need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm lying under the coffee table.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will not throw up in the car.
I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the carpet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay...Giz back here...hope you enjoyed this...let me add one more...as many of you know I was a "dumped stray" who was "taken in" by my folks as many of our FreeperPets have been....Before I take my nap let me add.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, in case I haven't said so....thanks for finding us such special homes on earth especially for those of us lucky to live with Freepers. Life is good!

Cyber eggs to he and Jackie! Thank you! They both are licking egg yolk off of their whiskers as I type. :-)
Here is a photo of Chachi and his dad napping the other night. Chach is such a 'daddy's boy'. LOL. But when dad's not home he turns into a 'mama's boy'.

Comment # 3 was mine, and I asked the mods to delete it. I was unaware that shrinking the pic did NOT reduce the byte size, and that this is really hard on dial up folks. No biggie. I'll figure out how to reduce the byte size, and then I'll post more pics! Ahem....... tips would be welcome. =)

Do you use photobucket if you do you can reduce the size of the picture there by either 75, 50 or 25 percent but remember that wherever you have the picture posted this will then be the size.
Also you cannot go back to the original larger size either you would have to re-load the picture.

Silky,playing surrogate mom to motherless Sassy is also mostly grey but it doesn't look that way. She was a starving stray.They have a sixth sense where the cat rescuers live! Sassy's stray mom dropped 5 kittens off in the compost pile when they were a week old and we were stuck!

Photobucket shrinks the picture way too much. I need to reduce the # of bytes. I was shrinking the size of the pics before posting, but the byte size was still huge.

Yeah I can tell that's dark grey...Another pretty one! I think it's neat that Silky has a yiddah bit of orange to represent her "adoption" of Sassy! P.S. I like to mis-spell words to convey beyond available verbage...LOL!

On the way home tonight I saw a rainbow, I always think of the chilren's Sunday School song "Whenever you see a rainbow remember God loves you.

That is precious. Dogs seem to know, too. I had strays showing up at my house in KC regularly. One was a PUPPY who RAN AWAY TWICE to my house. The first time, I returned him to his owner. The second time, I found a loving home for him. I have lots of dog stories. =)

I love rainbows! & tis a full arc one too...Spectacular!
To: Spanaway Lori
I resized some of the pictures 5 times on my computer to try to get the size Ok with bytes as low as possible. When you start off with over 2 million bytes, it is a pain!

How about using a graphics package where you can re-size the picture I have just tried it in photo explosion, the original size was 104 then I reduced the size and re-saved and it was down to 63.

The Dread Boston Salty at his most flirtatious. "Howa YOU doin'?"
Alpha cat Sabrina (who goes by Dolly), investigating the camera.
Fat feral cat Tabitha (AKA Spot), in a rare photo-op - she hates having her picture taken.
And last but never ever least, Dennis the big boy cat, lover of all things and all people. Best cat EVER.

Unfortunately at present it is not practical to have a dog, with me at work all day and dad in not good health it would not be fair to the animal. Snugs, I think it is wonderful that you put the needs of any potential pets above your need to have one. Would that everyone cared that much about animals. The world would be a better place...for the animals, at least.
I hope that someday your circumstances are such that you can have a pet. Any little furry creature would be lucky to move into your home and heart.
