SEATTLE -- Former President Jimmy Carter criticized the war in Iraq on Wednesday, urging a troop drawdown as the United States enters its fourth year of conflict in Iraq.
"It was a completely unnecessary war. It was an unjust war," said Carter, the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize winner. "It was initiated on the basis of false pretenses. All of those are true, but we can't just pre-emptively withdraw."

I don't believe in sitting around and not doing anything.
Since Oct 2001, just a few weeks after 9/11
I've actually helped, at zero cost to the government,
each and every week, without fail,
to do what I could for America and her security.

... at least part of our current problems in the Middle East are YOUR FAULT Not to mention that most of the current nuclear weapons problems in N Korea are YOUR FAULT, Jimmah!
Billy Carter would have made a better president than this fool - he had the common sense of a regular citizen trying to make a living ...

Oh yes, now I remember: "The Revolutionary War could have been avoided. It was an unnecessary war."--- Jimmy Carter.
False pretenses?
Somebody should inform ex-Presidunce Jimmy Carter that the definition of "pretense" is "false appearance and action".
Therefore, "false pretenses"--- are true.

If Carter hadn't sold out the Shah of Iran, the Middle East wouldn't be in this mess.
Nice job on the Panama Canal, too, Jimmy.

And the Dems keep repeating the false line that there was NO WMD like it was NEVER there.
They are so full of BS I am surprised any can still stand erect to walk.

On November 4, 1980, the American voters in a landslide fired one of the worst presidents in the history of our country, Jimmy Carter.
Carter is an insane meglomaniac, who still thinks that he is president. The MSM enables him to act like he is still our president.

I don't know about everyFRer, but I am sick and tired of these leftist scum repeatedly telling our young soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, through the lousy MSM, that their enormous sacrifices are for "nothing"..............this coming from the guy who locked himself in the Oval Office, 'cause he was afraid to come out and face reality, killer rabbits, and his sorry record as POTUS...........it's like the guy at the office who completely bungles his assignment, and then, 2 weeks later, stands there, with his hands on his hips, telling the new guy how to do the same assignment. Jimmy Carter is a pompous ass..............I know.......we are to refrain from name calling...............but, Jimmy Carter is a POMPOUS ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May God bless all of our military, anyone of whom may be in harm's way this very day........we love you, and, we are so thankful for you.

It's an absolute sin for Carter to make statements like these. Our soldiers, and the enemy, hear them.
But of course our military knows that Carter is a traitor, and scum.

I know you must have misunderstood the point I was trying to make. I didn't mean to imply that we should start a drawdown tomorrow, but eventually and the sooner the better.
Having said that it would be easy for me to misunderstand your comments and interpret them as you along with most Active Duty Personnel wanting to homestead in Iraq. If that's what you really mean I disagree.

All reasonable people want to see a draw down.
We just want to see it at the right time.
Our real issue here is not that Carter calls for a draw down, but saying that the war was unjust.
