On March 3rd, we held ALL FOUR CORNERS of the main gate at Walter Reed for the seventh week in a row for FReep #46. The Pinkos are still holding their vigil waaaaay down the block and the wounded warriors and their relatives do NOT have to pass close by them to enter or leave Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We had another great turnout of FReepers and friends from the DC Chapter and beyond despite the freezing wind.
The honor roll of those hardy enough to attend (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*):
Albion Wilde, Bill* from MD, BufordP, concretebob, Coop, CindyTrueSupporter, Danang68*, Doctor Raoul, Dustin10thMountain, Fraxinus, iMacMan, IraqiKurd, Jack Deth, Justanobody, Kristinn, Navy Wife*, PleaDeal, StayTrue, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally [Mr & Mrs], WarriorNurse, and a handful of shivering but boisterous conservative young'uns. If I missed someone, please throw a brick at me in the comments!
We had coffee, hot chocolate, and tea on site that tgslTakoma graciously provides every week, and Doctor Raoul brought fresh baked Philly preztles! Despite having this great canteen, we were blown away by the thoughtfullness and generousity of the family of a wounded warrior.

More flags whipping in the early evening.

Right: Tom the RedHunter. I think that smile was frozen in-place.

At left: the indefatigable tglsTakoma! |
A couple of wild and crazy guys. Concretebob and IraqiKurd started off the evening in the "spirit". |

This Friday may produce a lot more moonbats. Kristinn and Spiff attended a propaganda event presented by CodePink on Tuesday night from which Spiff gave quite a report on the creepy, hypocritical behavior of our antagonists.
After it was over, Kristinn and I went up to speak with Gael, Allison, and Jodie - the head Code Pinkos. She asked what we thought. Kristinn replied that he couldn't say what he felt because we were in a church. I responded, "Good show. It was very well executed." You'd think that I had slapped the Pinko. She was taken aback that I would express the obvious about their well crafted propaganda stunt. She said, "You don't think that we told these women what to say, do you?" Kristinn, always quick with the comeback said, "No. The Baath Party trained them well enough." I expressed a question about the "diversity" of the women in the presentation and asked why there were none of the Iraqi and Kurdish women who are grateful that we have freed them from a brutal dictator, helped them form a Constitution, and given them the freedom to vote. She blew off my comment and shoved at us the traitor mom who is dishonoring her son's service and memory. That conversation was like having a rational debate with a middle-schooler. She ran away after a minute.
Fearless FReepers continued to confront the moonbats today. tgslTakoma FReeped the Iraqi Embassy and the White House to the consternation of Sheehag et al:
I didn't get many photos, and only a bit of video, too. Short report: Kristinn, I and our friend Nofel were at the Iraqi Embassy to greet Medea Benjamin, Gael Murphy and Cindy Sheehan as they delivered their manifesto to a representative of the government of Free Iraq. As Cindy Sheehan approached the Embassy Gate to deliver the papers, Kristinn opened up on them with his booming voice, chiding Cindy Sheehan for marching with a group that is funding terrorists who are killing more American soldiers. Sheehan was stunned by the sight and sound of counterprotesters.
Cindy Sheehan, Medea Benjamin and all the rest of the usual suspects will be sure to use the opportunity to fill the ranks of anti-American freaks lurking down the block from Walter Reed's main gate, so please come out and show your support for the GOOD GUYS!
Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude. We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. Even Cindy Sheehan thinks it's wrong to demonstrate at a military hospital. (See Kristinn's post "Cindy Sheehan: Protests at Military Hospitals Out of Bounds (Attn: Code Pink and Veterans for Peace)".
Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you? This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation. So come on out and make some new FRiends and thank some real Heroes! |
For those of you in the DC area, we still need some additional FReepers to join us for FReeping Code Pink every Friday night, until further notice, starting at 6:30 pm and until about 9:30 pm. How about coming out this Friday? You can join us in progress if you can't make the beginning of the event.
Come help us fill All 4 Corners
Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave. at Elder St., NW
Patriots have all four corners of that intersection with Protest Warrior having the permit for the two corners on the West and Free Republic DC Chapter having the permit for the two corners on the East.
On street parking is usually easy to find. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from the Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail tgslTakoma and/or BillF (assuming his computer comes back to life), preferably with your cell phone number as far in advance as possible. We'll do our best to arrange a ride from the Takoma Metro station for you.

Looking forward to re-joining you guys this Friday!
Thank you for writing this great report, Plea Deal. The photos of the soldiers who come outside and thank us for defending them are the reason why we come back week after week.
Best news of all (at least for my sore, old bones) is that the weather is going to be warm this Friday!
OK everybody, please join us Friday evening in supporting our wounded warriors at Walter Reed!
Great report and photos -- I feel as if I were there with the rest of you!
God Bless Our Troops, God Bless President Bush and God Bless America.
FReep On!
Good job. Thanks.
Great report, Plea Deal! Love the photos!!!
Thanks so very much Plea Deal. I sit here waiting for news each week!
The pictures are very good and it is nice to see some troops too!
Woo Hoo!!
LandryFan is famous!
How are you feeling?
Each week the news seems better and better. Thank you so much.

PING?
Great job on the post!
Not sure if I'll be out this week or not, came down with a cold Tuesday courtesy of my daughter or co-worker, not sure which. Will try to send bmwcyle & daughter as reinforcements.
Congrats to Landry Fan!
About time all her good work was recognized.
Thanks also to tgsl for her tireless and incredibly effective efforts!
Great report, PD!
You have a real talent for doing these.
(I still await repair of my real computer after Dell [will never buy another computer from them] has shipped the wrong part twice. After I get it, I'll probably have two weeks of software "repairs" before it returns close to pre-crash capability. Thus, although I hope to be at WR on Friday, I can't post the report.)
God Bless all of you for FReeping the Pinko-Commies week after week. If they show thier face around where I live , I promise we will do the same. Keep up the good work.
All the Best!
A couple of disreputable characters if I ever saw one. And smoking TOBACCO! tisk tisk tisk
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
DC will be beautiful in the next few weeks. Spring and the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Please come visit. FReep with us and also see the tourist sites.
Smithsonian's vast array of Museums (Air and Space Museum is most popular and now has an extensive and amazing annex in nearby Virginia close to Dulles Airport), the Iwo Jima Memorial, Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln Monuments, the Vietnam and WWII Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, and the International Spy Museum are among the more popular places to visit.
Come FReep with us for the time of your life!
