I have no idea why we allow this to continue. The point needs to be made that if Iranians are killing Iraqis and Americans a few well placed bombs on military sites in Iran is going to be the consequence.

When the list of offenses is compiled and published, this infiltration will be near the top. While technically a separate Declaration of War is not required, a state of war existing since the US Embassy was overrun, it might be advisable to make a formal Declaration of War just to quiet the skeptics.

This Administration has an awful time with the concept of 'Borders'.
So what happens when a unit of Iranian army regulars meets up with a US Army unit?
If they engage our troops would that be an act of war?
You just answered your own question. Just because one person will do it does not prove that there are enough people in sufficient quantities willing to perform these tasks. But I'm sure you are smart enough to realize that.
I suppose the tax money spent on their health care, education, incarceration, judicial system, etc means nothing to you.
It's business people wanting subsidized labor.
If that is the case, maybe, just maybe, we need to promote better work ethics in our children. Maybe they need to get off their fat ass and learn some algrebra (other thread), do some manual labor, work off the pounds physically instead of just eating low-calorie chips while watching the Simpsons.
Last i checked, not everyone can be the president of a large company, or the main attorney from a large firm. There just aren't enough jobs in the country for everyone to have their job of choice. Also, there is nowhere near enough jobs in the US for everyone in THE WHOLE WORLD. 6 billion people on the planet, only 300m here, and you think giving away 30m American jobs will help employ everyone around the world? Hardly. All it does is increase work force supply pressure, and decrease local wages. The cost of goods never decreases, only the quality.
My example shows how someone can, through hard work and persistence, progress from the most basic job up to the higher levels. This should be promoted instead of ridiculed as an oddity.
If the purpose of the open border fanatic is to increase the standard of living around the world... then you do that by promoting stability within the target country and purchasing goods and services from their corporations, placing tariffs appropriately. Over time, their corporations would flurish , local economies would grow, and the people would prosper. You don't have the capitalists from here, go over there, bride some officials and create factories that would be shutdown in a heartbeat in the US due to horrible working conditions. This is not helping the people here or there at all, but it does put huge amounts of money into the pockets of those greedy few (with which they buy spin doctors to counter any arguments contrary to their plans).

Yeah, Rumsfeld has a real entertaining way of talking. Last week, he referred to the sectarian violence in Iraq as "a lot of tugging, hauling, and politicking." Then he said something like, "Is Iraq a pretty picture wrapped in crepe paper? No not yet, but they've made a lot of progress." What other Sec Def ever used the term "crepe paper" in a congressional hearing? He has a knack for comedy.

The problem, of course, is not only that Americans won't do the work (though it's true that a lot of people won't); but rather that Americans are hiring illegals to do the work.
The topic of illegal immigration into the US relates (marginally) to the topic of this thread in the following manner:
There are people in Iraq who are willing to accept this assistance from Iran. To deal with the inflow from Iran, it's best to deal with the people who are responsible for taking delivery.
Also, Iran, like Mexico, realizes that once the cross-border commerce stops, they face revolution at home....
Mexico would face a revolution because Vincente Fox realizes we're a safety valve for his restless classes.
And Iran faces revolution because, once Iraq reaches a reasonable level of stability, there's nothing to stop us from returning the favor by sending weapons to Iran's restless classes.
I don't get it. Say we close the border down tomorrow. The terrorist going to school at UNC still plows his car into 'the pit.' The terrorist that tried to detonate a bomb at the OU game, still blows up. Mo Atta would've still been flying simulators on a valid tourist visa.
All these legal ways to come into the country, why would a terrorist ever risk getting caught as an "illegal" when he could be guaranteed that "all his papers are in order" for best cover.
Seriously, how much extra effort would it take me, if I were a terrorist, to run around plotting a huge terror hit, all the while worried about getting thrown in jail for an expired drivers license, or no auto insurance, or not being able to buy drinks at the titty bar because I didn't have an ATM card....

One reason Americans don't like to do such labor is that they are unhealthy due to bad diet. Hard physical work, when done in a balanced way (not drudgery), is actually enjoyable when one is fit and healthy. Mexicans are generally fitter due to much lower calorie and refined food intake.
Thats not an excuse , just a fact. I agree we need to get off our butts.
