Clinton cover-ups (Barrett Report)
Washington Times ^ | 07 Mar 06 | Mark Goodman

Lost in the tumult over Islamic port deals and Katrina video capers is the recently released -- and willfully ignored -- Barrett Report. David Barrett, you'll recall, is the independent counsel appointed in 1995 to investigate allegations of impropriety against President Clinton's Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros. Mr. Barrett found his path mined by the Justice Department, the Internal Revenue Service and President Clinton's attorneys, even after Mr. Clinton departed the White House. He prepared 18 felony indictments against Mr. Cisneros but had to settle for a guilty plea on a misdemeanor charge (lying to the FBI about his mistress, a poor choice for a tax write-off). He sought to prosecute Mr. Cisneros for tax fraud over a period of years but was thwarted by Attorney General Janet Reno. Ultimately Mr. Cisneros resigned his post, whereupon President Clinton, constitutionally bound to men who lie about their mistresses, pardoned him.

Taking on the Clintons is as dangerous as printing cartoons about muhammed.

"Taking on the Clintons is as dangerous as printing cartoons about muhammed."

A pretty astute analogy, IMO.

Good way to put it.

Another example of
the DC mutual protection racket writ large.

We've got to get rid of the careerist.
The founders had the right idea:
the citizen politician,
not the corrupt mediocrity
that is the professional pol.

You apparently don't need to worry about the Barrett Report any longer. I wrote an e-mail to my Senator, Ron Wyden (D-OR), to complain about the suppressed information in the report. He wrote me back and in his letter, dated January 19, 2006, stated, "At one point, it was uncertain whether the entire Barrett Report would be made available to the public; however, the judicial panel that oversees these matters has since ordered its full disclosure".

Could it be the Clintons have put the message out for everyone to drop this? How ?

Sometimes I think EVERYBODY in Washington DC has a skeleton in their closet and has to 'toe the line'! Disgusting.

Thanks for the ping Baynative.

Your Blackhawk Bill is new! Justice Ginsburg has to be embarrassed about that. I don't think anything phases the Clintons.

BUMP!

Now, when will any Republican have the guts to reveal the redacted information?
(I am giving them the benefit of the doubt - - for now - - and presuming that it comes down to election year timing.

I suppose the citizens of this country are going to have to put term limitations on the ballot!

Get rid of these public fund sucking suckers once and for all.

We can start with any member that has served longer than two terms, they can all go home and get a job! I hear Wall-Mart is hiring all over the cuntry.

Once we have a real citizen congress, then they can begin to clean out the rest of the perma-fund-my-ass programs the imbedded have voted for themselves!

And we have got to get the monopoly of Attorneys creating law, arguing law, and judging law out of the hands of attorneys! Lets elect some business and just plain people into the house that creates law. Maybe then some of them will actually make some sense.

"Lets elect some business and just plain people into the house that creates law."

Especially those who can understand what "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" is and what they are supposed to do to preserve the rights of Citizens.

Should be simple enough even for a high school graduate.

A refresher course:

(a) Do not pass any laws that will prevent Citizens from protecting their lives when they are threatened. Otherwise Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness mean nothing.

(b) Do not pass any laws that infringe on a Citizen's liberties. Otherwise their lives are worthless and their happiness is but an empty dream.

(c) Do not pass any laws that infringe on Citizen's private property and the management thereof. Otherwise their lives and liberties are placed in jeapordy and lienable at the pleasure of the state.

and (d) Pass no laws that are not in pursuance to the Bill of Rights and the Constitution -- the supreme law of the land.

"Now, when will any Republican have the guts to reveal the redacted information?"

Our best chance to see this stuff may come from a Democrat revealing the info. Someone looking for the 2008 nomination, perhaps. Someone who thinks he got cheated out of the last election, perhaps. Or someone who's been known to lose their temper, perhaps.

Or even someone who's seen their party going downhill due to the Clintons.

Good Morning Troll!

Up a little early this morning aren't we?

I've seen some of your other drivel left on the other boards.

So, how would you like your zot?

Viking kitty style or perhaps the traditional lightening bolt?

We need to hold all politicians to the same standards you and I would be subject to.

I guess you never read the Cunninghams threads have you? Of course not, your a liberal and your too open minded to hear anyone else point of view!

Kindly go back to D.U. and stop stupiding over our threads!
